Day four of the 2025 US Open is upon us, and with it comes the start of the second round in the men's and women's singles draws.
Day three was a bad one for British tennis, particularly on the women's side of the draw, as Katie Boulter and Sonay Kartal were both knocked out. On the men's side, Jacob Fearnley did well to beat the experienced Roberto Bautista Agut.
Elsewhere, we went two out of three on our US Open day three tips. Coco Gauff was unconvincing, as we predicted, while Jannik Sinner made light work of Vit Kopriva.
Can we go one better and land the full house on day four?
US Open day 4 tips: Our picks
Novak Djokovic 3-0 Zachary Svajda (4/6)
Novak Djokovic was very open in his first-round post-match press conference, saying that he is now struggling to find his best level. The Serb looked weary at times, but he still managed to come through his match with Learner Tien in straight sets.
Djokovic faces another American in the second round in Zachary Svajda, but the 22-year-old is ranked nearly 100 places lower than Tien in the world rankings, which should mean Djokovic has an easier task in front of him.
The 24-time Grand Slam winner may not be what he once was, but he still has a phenomenal record this year in matches against players not called Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz. He has won all 15 of his grand slam matches against the rest of the field this season, and nine of those have been in straight sets.
Emma Raducanu 2-0 Janice Tjen (4/5)
Emma Raducanu is currently playing her best tennis since winning this tournament as an 18-year-old four years ago. The talented Brit was excellent at Wimbledon and has carried that form into the US hard-court season, where she has picked up several notable wins.
One noticeable thing about Raducanu's results this summer is that her matches very rarely go to three sets. Her last nine victories have all come without dropping a set, including all seven of her wins on hard courts since Wimbledon.
Janice Tjen is no slouch and put in a very impressive performance to shock Kudermetova in the first round earlier in the week. However, Raducanu's history at the US Open and her own impressive form should see her through in straights.
Francisco Comesana to beat Cameron Norrie (13/8)
While it's set to be a good day for Raducanu, another Brit, Cameron Norrie, faces a huge banana skin second-round tie on day four.
Norrie has had a poor season on the whole, with his deep run at Wimbledon the exception to the rule. He has struggled on the hard courts since his home grand slam and lost three consecutive matches coming into the US Open.
He managed to buck that trend in his opening round win over Seb Korda, but the American was struggling with an injury that ultimately forced him to retire.
Comesana, on the other hand, has looked brighter in the build-up to the tournament, winning three straight matches in Cincinnati.
