After a day full of big performances on Monday, the 2025 US Open enters day three on Tuesday with more exciting matches to come.
Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic both enjoyed straightforward victories in the men's draw, while Venus Williams put in a huge performance at the age of 44 to push Karolina Muchova to three sets in the women's.
On Tuesday, Jannik Sinner will kick off his title defence, while there will also be appearances from home favourite Coco Gauff and former champion Naomi Osaka.
We kicked off our US Open betting tips by getting two of three predictions correct on day two. Can we do one better for day three?
US Open day 2 tips: Our picks
Jannik Sinner vs Vit Kopriva under 25.5 games (4/5)
If there is one player across the men's and women's draws whom you had to put your house on to win their opening round match in straight sets, then it would unquestionably be Jannik Sinner.
The Italian is as robotic and inevitable as they come, and barring injury or illness, you can almost certainly book his place in the second week of the tournament already.
Sinner has won his last 15 grand slam matches against players not called Carlos Alcaraz in straight sets in a formidable stretch that goes back to the Australian Open at the beginning of the year. The Italian also didn't drop a set in his run to the Cincinnati final last week, proving he has no issues on the American hard courts.
Ajla Tomljanovic vs Coco Gauff over 17.5 games (8/11)
Coco Gauff should come through this match, but Ajla Tomljanovic has been priced slightly harshly, considering she has previously made it through to the quarter-finals at Flushing Meadows.
Additionally, Gauff is far from unbeatable and often has lapses in concentration during matches, which gives her opponents a foot in the door.
Across Gauff's last nine matches, she has only won one of them in 17 games or under, while Tomljanovic has ensured each of her last six outings have gone beyond the 18-game barrier.
Yes, the home crowd will spur Gauff on, but her tennis could be better in a better place coming into this one, and 8/11 feels too good to turn down on Tomljanovic making a game of it.
Alexandre Muller to beat Stefanos Tsitsipas (7/5)
There are several players on the men's side of the draw who are battling against poor form coming into the US Open, and one of those is Stefanos Tsitsipas.
The 27-year-old is still young enough to turn his career around, but his performances of late have been extremely concerning, losing seven of his last eight matches, and none of those have been against players ranked inside the top 20 in the world.
Ranked number 38 in the world, Alexandre Muller has the ability to pile on the misery for Tsitsipas on Tuesday. The Frenchman has enjoyed three wins on the American hard courts since Wimbledon, two more than his Greek opponent.
