THERE are 5 Championship matches tonight and all look likely to see goals.
Sheffield Wednesday v WBA (7.45pm)
It was another win a the weekend for WBA which keeps them hot on the heels of leaders Leeds United. After a shaky start they appear to be adapting well to life in the Championship and are on a great run at the moment collecting 13 points from their last 5 league matches.
They've scored 14 goals in the process but it's worth noting they have kept just two clean sheets from their 11 matches this season.
Scoring goals doesn’t appear to be a problem and they have a potent strikeforce in Jay Rodriguez and Dwight Gayle who between them have already netted 13 goals this season.
They were both on target on Saturday and will be a real handful for this Sheffield Wednesday defence. If the Baggies want to take anything from this game I feel they are going to have to score at least twice as I can’t see them keeping a clean sheet.
Wednesday can be happy with their recent efforts having picked up 4 points against Villa and Leeds. Their last 5 games have all seen both sides score with 6 of their last 8 going over 2.5 goals and I can’t see them keeping WBA at bay tonight.
But as they have shown in recent weeks they have more than enough quality in attack to cause Albion problems. Expecting both sides to score here and that should lead us to over 2.5 match goals.
Recommended Bet
- Over 2.5 match goals
- 4-5 (BetVictor) (NAP)
Nottingham Forest v Millwall (7.45pm)
It’s hard not to fancy Forest against a Millwall side who are having a really tough time of it. The hosts have only lost one of their 13 games this season although as I wrote a few weeks ago, they have become something of a draw specialist (6).
But that said, at home they have been fantastic. They've won 4 on the spin against some decent opposition , are unbeaten in 7 home games this season and look to be in a much better place than this Millwall side.
Its tough times for Millwall boss Neil Harris, they sit joint bottom of the league, are without a win in 6 and away from home it’s been shocking – they've lost their last 4 and scored just one goal away from home all season. Hence why I'm surprised the bookies are being so generous with the price they are offering for Forest.
These two sides are in going in the opposite direction and with Forest in great form especially at home and Millwall looking as if they will be playing League One football next season, Forest have to be backed at almost even money.
Recommended Bet
- Nottingham Forest to beat Millwall
- 19-20 (Coral)
I really fancy goals from tonight’s Championship card with these 4 all looking good for goals. Would expect at least 6 of these sides to score and you are getting fairly decent odds on over 1.5 goals.
- Blackburn v Sheffield United
- Derby v Norwich
- Nottingham Forest v Millwall
- Sheffield Wednesday v WBA
Recommended Bet
- Over 1.5 match goals 4 fold
- 2-1 (Bet365)
