St Mirren v Celtic
Kick-Off: 7.45pm, Friday, September 14, BT Sport 1
IT'S back to normality tonight after a week or so trying to work out the complexities of the Nations League.
Scotland beat Albania but I don't know if that took us a step closer to Euro 2020 or edged us towards Bully's Special Prize (younger readers can google it).
The likes of Kieran Tierney, Callum McGregor and to a lesser extent Leigh Griffiths played a part in Monday's 2-0 win and will be feeling good as they make the short trip to Paisley.
There's a new name on the scene with Oran Kearney in the St Mirren dugout after Alan Stubbs was binned after picking up just three points.
Kearney has been tasked with restoring some fight and confidence to a side that strolled the Championship but lost its way under Stubbs.
It's asking a lot for the ex-Coleraine boss to have an immediate effect against Celtic but he'll have them better organised and likely to make Brendan Rodgers's side fight for the points.
Celtic have won on four of their last five visits to Paisley and scored 2+ on six of their previous seven.
They are are short to win at 2-9 with Marathonbet so consider Celtic -1 at 8-13 with BetBright. It has the feel of a 2-0 Celtic success at 11-2 with McBookie.
Bookies aren't giving much so finding value isn't easy. On the first-scorer market I'm looking at McGregor, who played well against Albania, at 13-2 with Unibet or Tom Rogic who is 23-4 at 888sport.
It would be a huge shock if Saints won and they are 16-1 at Ladbrokes while a draw is 6-1 at Marathonbet.
Kearney will be looking for some improvement and his men are 11-10 with Paddy Power to score.
McBookie Star Bet
If you fancy a 2-0 Celtic to win combine it with a scorer. Edouard and 2-0 pays 16-1 as does Griffiths and 2-0.
Recommended Bets (7.45pm)
- McGregor to score
- Celtic to win 2-0
- Celtic -1
