THE Scottish Cup takes centre stage on Saturday but the big boys are still in league action as they don't enter the competition until the next round.
There are four games taking places in the Scottish Premiership with the match of the day coming from Easter Road as new Hibs boss Jack Ross takes charge for the first time against high-flying Motherwell.
You can listen to our thoughts on this week's Gambla Betting Podcast as we preview the game as well as the Leicester City match and on Sunday St Johnstone v Aberdeen as well as goals in the Norwegian top flight.
Hibernian vs Motherwell (KO 3pm)
The appointment of Jack Ross to the Hibernian hotseat was a decision that was well received from the Easter Road faithful and there's no better way to endear yourself to the fans than picking up a much-needed win in your first game in charge.
They face a tough test though against one of the surprise packages of the season as Steven Robinson and his Motherwell side swagger into the capital.
Its been a terrific season for the Fir Park side who have collected 22 points and sit just three points behind third-placed Aberdeen. It's going to be difficult though to maintain the 1.7 points per match they are collecting.
There's a lot to be said about “the new manager bounce” but his appointment has certainly raised spirits and the fans will be fully expecting to make inroads into the top six. That aside, they have a very talented squad which was massively under achieving during Paul Heckingbottom's tenure.
They showed us what they can do as they hammered St Johnstone 4-1 last time out and I feel a bit for Motherwell who would have hoped for the new appointment to happen after this game.
Scoring goals at home hasn't been a problem but keeping them out has (1-0 2-2 1-2 1-1 -2-2 2-5 ). Hibs can hurt teams and with Christian Doidge finally looking like a £250,000 signing, Flo Kamberi on his day is one of the best strikers in the league and with Scott Allan adding goals to his game, they are more than capable of scoring another few goals.
As I said Motherwell are having a great season but I just feel Hibs will edge this, aided by home advantage, the confidence of their impressive victory in Perth and this being Ross's first game.
The betting angle – I have looked at both the WDW market and as you'll know I'm a big fan of over 1.5 team goals (something Hibs landed in 4 home games this season despite failing to win any of those 4 games) – going with both (Split NAP).
Recommended Bets:

- (7-2, Marathonbet)
Its all abour valuwe greig and i just cant see why hobs are favourite. One home win all season and that was against now bottom of the table stmirren. Im more inclined to go for steelmen 2+ and also on them btts and win.
It’s probably worth noticing they’ve only lost or hone game and have scored 2 or more in 4 of their 6 league matches at Easter Road.
I do agree though they shouldn’t be favourites b with hone advantage a Really positive performance last time out + the new manager Imthe money will have come in for them
Hibs to score 2 looks good
Motherwell having a great season but they can’t maintain that level all season
