The Oranje followed up on that point by putting Montenegro to the sword with a thumping 4-0 win in Amsterdam on Saturday night.
That triumph took the Dutch to 10 points from five qualifiers, with their only defeat to a date coming against Tuesday night's guests Turkey in the reverse fixture.
Senol Gunes side endured a disappointing Euro 2020 as they went out in the group stages before blowing a two-goal lead in a 2-2 with Montenegro last midweek.
However, the Crescent Stars bagged a morale-boosting 3-0 against Gibraltar on Saturday to keep them one point ahead of Netherlands and Norway at the summit of the section.
