INTER MILAN and Barcelona are two great names on the European stage, but they look set to be battling it out to remain in the Champions League with Bayern Munich making a great start in the section.
Both sides have already come off second best to the Bavarian giants and they will approach this game with contrasting confidence levels after two very different recent domestic results.
Barca have shown plenty of glimpses they are back to something approaching their old selves. They have won six out of seven games in la Liga and that game they drew was their opening match of the season.
Of course, their talisman is the brilliant Robert Lewandowski. He netted the only goal of the game at the weekend in their 1-0 win at Mallorca to make it 12 goals in just nine games so far for the predatory Pole.
But Inter are struggling domestically and their weekend loss to former boss Jose Mourinho's Roma made it four wins and four losses so far in Serie A and they are barely above mid-table.
The pressure is mounting on manager Simone Inzaghi with fans unhappy with performances and results and the last thing he will want is a visit from born-again Barca.
How the bookies view it
Barcelona are odds-on favourites across the board and can be backed at 7/8 with SBK. Inter Milan are outsiders despite San Siro advantage at 7/2 with UniBet. The draw is 11/4 with bet365.
Recent head to heads
The sides last met three years ago, also at this stage of the Champions League and Barcelona won both games in the San Siro and the Nou Camp by a 2-1 scoreline.
Inter haven't beat Barca in the last five games.
Players to watch
Edin Dzeko has been scoring goals for a long time and although the Bosnian hitman is 36 now, he is still a threat and has already netted in the Champions League this season against Viktoria Plzen. He is 13/5 to score with William Hill.
There's only one man to look for at Barca when it comes to goals. Robert Lewandowski has proved to be the punters' friend over the years and he is backable at 20/21 to score in Italy with bet365.
Anything else catch the eye?
Barcelona look like they have to be backed here. They have been almost perfect this season apart from a defeat in Germany to Bayern Munich where absolutely nothing went right for them all night and they dominated for large spells.
They are playing an Inter team who look bang average and the uncertainty surrounding the manager won't be helping, with their fans on their back. They are vulnerable at the back having conceded at least two goals in three of their last five games.
It all points to a win for Barca and don't be surprised if they do it comfortably. Take a chance at them on -1 on the handicaps at 9/4 with Paddy Power.
