PSG will begin the defence of their Ligue 1 crown on Sunday night, as they travel to the Beaujoire to take on Nantes.
PSG clinched a record 13th Ligue 1 title with relative ease last season, finishing 19 points clear of nearest challengers Marseille.
Luis Enrique’s men also clinched a record 15th Coupe de France title, beating Reims 3-0 in the final, but most importantly for them, they finally won the holy grail.
The Parisians thrashed Inter 5-0 in the Champions League final, securing a maiden Champions League crown for the French champions on an evening where our man SlipsTips landed a couple of winners.
As has been the case in recent seasons, Nantes flirted with relegation, once again last term.
However, the Canaries lost just one of their final five Ligue 1 clashes, ensuring they finished in 13th position in the Ligue 1 table, three points clear of the relegation playoff zone.
How the bookies view it: PSG favourites
Unsurprisingly, PSG have been installed as favourites to kickoff their Ligue 1 campaign with a win, with BoyleSports pricing the French champions at 1/3.
BoyleSports has the hosts as 6/1 underdogs, whilst the draw is 4/1.
Head to head: Can the Canaries go three unbeaten against the champions?
Despite winning 26 of their 34 Ligue 1 encounters last season, PSG failed to get the better of Nantes, drawing both of their meetings 1-1.
Players to watch: Dembele to deliver?
Ousmane Dembele had an outstanding season last season, and was Ligue 1’s joint top-scorer, firing in 21 goals in his 29 appearances. The Frenchman is 20/23 at BoyleSports to bag in Breton on Sunday night.
Predicted line-ups:
Nantes are expected to be without last season’s top scorer Matthis Abline, with Mostafa Mohamed expected to lead the line.
PSG will be without Portuguese midfielder Joao Neves through suspension, whilst new signing from Lille, Lucas Chevalier is expected to make his Ligue 1 debut for the Parisians.
FC Nantes: Lopes, Amian, Tati, Awaziem, Cozza, Lepenant, Leroux, Hyeok-Kyu, Mahamoud, Guirassy, Mohamed
Paris Saint-Germain: Chevalier, Hakimi, Marquinhos, Pacho, Mendes, Vitinha, Ruiz, Zaire-Emery, Doue, Kvaratskhelia, Dembele
Anything else catch the eye?
As stated above, PSG failed to get the better of Nantes in both meetings last season, but you would be surprised if they didn’t claim all three points here.
A chunky 25/34 (74%) of PSG’s Ligue 1 clashes last season saw a minimum of three goals, so combining a Parisian win and Over 2.5 Goals appeals at 4/5 at BoyleSports.
Despite cruising to the Ligue 1 title last season, 27/34 (79%) of PSG’s matches saw goals at both ends – including both meetings with the Canaries – meaning I like the 15/8 boost at BoyleSports for an away win and Both Teams to Score.
