IT'S another big weekend and it started with Liverpool beating Wolves to seal top spot in the Premier League for Christmas Day.
I put up a site treble but it needed Wolves to score and while they had chances Liverpool's win was well deserved.

On Saturday the action kicks off with Arsenal v Burnley then we have Man City v Crystal Palace and the evening live TV game sees Ole Gunnar Solskjaer make his dugout debut for Man United at former club Cardiff. Should be tasty.

Hibs looked really drab against rangers and will be tired coming into the game today. Such a large price (granted they are away) for a team who in their most recent game managed a 5-0 humping of Heart and 3-1 win over St.Mirren. They seem to rally in the bigger games and I think this will be another opportunity to show that they aren’t mugs.
If the straight win is a step too far, double chance and +1 pays 21/20.
If it was home I’d been on Livi – away I’m not so sure.
Despite having no fit strikers available I’m still very confident of a resounding Celtic win today with the likes of McGregor, Rogic, Sinclair, Forrest, Johnson,& Morgan available in attacking positions. Dundee have the worst defensive record in the division conceding 41 in 18 at an average of 2.27gls per game & that rises to 2.44gls on away days & today they are the visitors too a Celtic side that’s put 23 past the 8 teams who’ve visited already at an average of 2.88gls per match. Its no very often ill disagree with Mr F but you can’t be betting joint top scorers Celtic & u3.5gls at home against that defence, that’s a goal total that could be had by HT with or without a natural striker. Dundee have lost four of their past five away Premiership games (D1), losing 15 goals in the process.
Dundees record in Glasgow is tragic and have lost 19/23 visits to Celtic winning just once, they’ve conceded 67 times in 23 averaging 2.91gls conceded per match. Dundee have failed to net in 10/12 against Celtic with 2 solitary strikes in 2-1 defeats breaking the run. Celtic should be winning this by 3+ in my opinion but would be surprised if there’s 4/5 in it and that’s the road I’m going down. After wins against Hamilton and Celtic, Hibs held Rangers to a draw midweek and whilst it was hardly vintage stuff form Neil Lennons side it was a good point considering Rangers dominated.
7 points from those three games is a good return and nothing but three points today will do.
Hibs have only lost once at home in the last 12 months but they really need to start winning against the sides they should be beating. 2-2 draws against St. Mirren and Dundee simply isn’t good enough.
Livingston have had a terrific season but its worth pointing out all of their good work is done at home on their plastic pitch.
Away from home they have been poor and have only collected 5 points on their travels which makes me think Hibs are a decent price to win this.
Hibs are in good shape and have refound a bit of form. Livi are a good side but not away from home and that’s why I’m taking the Hibs to collect another three points.

The Robins have been the team to follow the past few weeks and have been in cracking form. Discounting last weeks 1-0 Cup defeat – weather was awful/man sent off before half time/wasn’t strongest 11 – Alti have been a formidable force.
Phil Parkinson has done a wonderful job so far at the club and really turned the season around, the team have been strengthened in defence which was the weak point and they have put in a run of 5 league wins in a row jumping up from the bottom half of the table to 3rd place.
Alti sit just 4 points off the top spot, behind leaders Chorley, so today is an important game with all to play for. They face a Darlington team who sit 3rd from bottom of the table in 17th place, and have lost the last 4 games in a row.
Last time these two played each other was in August, where Alti put 3 goals past Darlington at their ground – without return.
The squad is pretty much at full strength barring Jordan Hulme – who’s on a 3 game suspension following the red card last week v Stockport.

Hearts have Naysmith back after the injury against Celtic in the league cup, but may take him some games to get to match sharpness. His all round presence in the side has been sorely missed, (as well as his goals) as his constant vocals to his teammates keeps them going or gives them a shake. Definitely confident fraser, I’d rather have Edouard in the team and he’ll be fit for Ibrox at least. However we’ve lost just once in 25 matches against Aberdeen and Rangers and have the best points per game ratio against top 6 opponents this season. Realistically there’s only 1 team that can afford to lose next Saturday, the pressures all on Rangers. The question is are you confident of taking maximum points before Celtics arrival and then avoiding a potential killer blow on Derby day
