SUNDAY was a disappointing day for me but after several good ones I was due a setback on what I felt was a tricky card.
With the Aston Villa Super Single void it was just a 2pts loss with my accas worth 1pt each.
Ten-man Arsenal failing to score at Leicester beat the both to score treble early while the early Spanish games provided shock defeats for Sevilla and Valencia.
In fact no La Liga favourites won on Sunday with Real Madrid's loss at Rayo the pick of a bad bunch. With the likes of Hoffenheim and Marseille losing and Bayern being held at Nurnberg it wasn't easy to land a winner so well done to anyone who managed it.
There were plenty of good calls especially on cards in the Edinburgh derby and at Rangers v Aberdeen.
I didn't think Leicester or Chelsea would lose and tipped Man City to win by one or two. Burnley gave them a tough test but that's Pep's men just two wins from the title and for me Brighton is a gimme so Liverpool will be hoping Brendan Rodgers and Leicester can do them a favour at the Etihad next Monday.
Tonight there's not much to look at barring a few top-flight games on the Continent. With the accas profits so good I'm happy to risk 1.6pts on a Top Treble.
Biggest game of the night is Atalanta v Udinese with the home men attempting to climb above Roma and into the final Champions League place. Udinese are four points clear of the drop zone and have one away win in 16 in Serie A. I expect Atalanta to win well with overs but for the treble I'll take the straight win.
The other game is a mid-table fight between Fiorentina and Sassuoli with new Florence boss Vincenzo Montella attempting to end a winless run of 10. Could be goals here – five of the last six meetings have gone over 2.5 and at Sassuolo this season it ended 3-3.
In La Liga there is little to separate Real Betis and Espanyol who are locked on 43 points. Again it's a mid-table battle with little at stake so let's hope for goals. Both teams have scored in all three meetings this season – two in the cup – and both teams have scored in both sides' last four matches.

Spurs v Ajax
Ajax to win at 15/8 (NAP)*****
Spurs come into this game after suffering their first loss at their new stadium and to city rivals West Ham and now face a rested youthful Ajax side. The Dutch fa have been good enough to give the league a week off especially so Ajax can prepare for this game and that’s not going to bode well for Spurs who look leggy.Spurs will be without Son Heung Min,Harry Kane,Sissoko for this match and to say they are depleted is an understatement as Spurs have no strength in depth and you have to fear for them in this match,i know i do when your facing a team that went to Madrid and wiped the floor with them and if that weren’t scary enough Ajax then went to Juventus and did the same to them. For me the away win appeals a lot the price isn’t great for an away team but given the circumstances it’s one very much worth taking.
Best of luck

My bet scraped in with my first real bum squeaker late yesterday. It was the Fluminense/Goais game. A penalty got awarded in the 45th +2 minute. There was then a 15 minute interruption to the game. Eventually the game was restarted and the penalty was missed. By the time the half finished, the other kickoff in Brazil A league was into the 55th minute. God know what happened. Rather than take a massive hit, with 20 mins left and no goals I consigned myself to washing my pots and came back to an 89th minute goal courtesy of Goias. A goal is a goal. @ 1/9 price it wasn’t that great but I’ve actually managed to go a knats whisker further than I’ve ever gone in this challenge.
Bet365 somehow locked out my cashout because of the Palmeiras game that finished 4 nil, so I couldn’t take the 1/8 I was hoping for in a game in Colombia. Bit of a hard pill to swallow since the game did deliver more than enough goals to cover my betting strategy. Bet365 eventually settled my bet around 7:30am but I was away counting sheep by then.
I’ve woken up, had a smoke and a brew, had a little look at games and they’re thin on the ground.
@ 6pm, there is Nordsjaelland but the sp is a miserly 1/80, so I’ll wait in play for 10-15 mins for a price rise ( hopefully ), then there is Real Betis/Espanyol and Fiorentino/Sassuola priced so far at 1/25 and 1/20.
Hopefully if the Nordsjaelland match delivers, I’ll concentrate on the other 2x 8pm kickoffs and take in-play prices.
Will keep you posted guys.

I like Ajax but thought they’d be bigger.
Yeah ajax are short at 15/8 but given Spurs problems Ajax should win.Liverpool look good value at 10/3 to see off Barca. Will have some players to get booked when teams are announced.
An Ajax v Liverpool final is 3-1.
Afternoon gents
Had a good look through the card but nothing really standing out other than goals at Atalanta but is priced too short
Nothing from me in terms of a write up but I am going to take all 5 Swedish 6pm KO’s over 1.5 goals at just under 3/1
Cheers, I was originally taking goals at Atalanta but just going with the win and that’s short too.
Sorry to hear about the death of Stevie Chalmers – will be working on another pullout at the Record tonight so don’t miss it if you’re a Celtic fan.
Just found out today his dad played for the Bankies alongside another Celtic legend Jimmy McGrory who was on loan. Before my time though.
Cheers Greg

Real Betis v Espanyol is usually a card fest with the last game in the Copa Del Rey producing 14 yellows and 1 red.
Sky Bet seem very generous for 60+ and 70+ booking points @ 5/4 and @ 9/4 respectively.
Red card bets with Paddy Power @ 5/2 and 35/1 for both teams.
On 60+ Spanish games are normally great for cards

I missed out on the Danish game waiting for an improved price and a goal came in that, so I scrubbed it from my plans. Instead I opted for a goal in the Atlanta game. Most people seemed to be pointing to it for goals, so I took the improved in play 1/12 on offer for a goal. It had me sweating a bit, but sometimes goals are a bit like buses, you wait an age for one and two come along.
I’ve since dropped onto a goal in the Fiorentiona, Real Betis, Cork City and Shamrock Rovers. 2 of the prices are not huge, but a lack of goals in the Cork games first 15 mins allowed me to get a slightly better prices in Spain and Italy, and a boost to the Cork City game. 1/25 + 1/20 + 1/9 + 1/10.
Fingers crossed, I’m really in squeaky bum territory. At least I have a good 80 odd minutes of football to play out before we’ll know.
Good luck tonight guys.
All in pal
Yep. My dilemma now is about cashing out. I’m about 55% further than I’ve ever gone before. I’m in quality of life money territory now. I think putting the brakes on before I bank some is the sensible option.

Belgian reserves overs just came in , last kick. Thanks to whoever suggested

both bets lost. Honka were honking… they were the favourites in that game and just needed a goal from them to land the both the BTTS & Overs picks
actually followed Greg’s O1.5 Swedish 4-Fold which saved the day so cheers for that.
well done all winners!
Greg’s O1.5 Swedish was a 5- fold, not sure what you mean. I guess you picked the 4 who won. Congrats.
yeah i only saw 4 teams on Betway which is what I chose.
just double-checked and there was definitely only 4 Swedish Allsvenskan games tonight.
His 5-fold was also a game in the Superettan. 0-1. Too bad.
fair enough. glad only backed the Allsvenskans.
Noticed the Belgium res came in late for the overs, what price were they ?
Spurs vs ajax.
Yes ajax have been a joy to watch lately but I think they will be out there depth tommrow can see a comprehensive spurs victory.
Reasons.
Against a Madrid side lacking confidence
Juventus team hasn’t got the legs.
Premier league teams have a much higher constant tempo/challenge week in week out. They will run when ajax run and they will put them under pressure most of the game.
They got beat by a west ham team but they have the eye on being in a champions league final no doubt about that.

Good luck with that one.Just one point who’s going to score these goals for Spurs.
Knew you’d pipe up because someone went against you.
Goodluck with your one eh.
You may aswel post all your end of season picks now.
City to draw or lose last 2 games.
Liverpool to win there next 4 games and then then the final.
Wishful thinking is a good strategy for some.
Totally agree with @besensible Spurs have plenty of fire power with the likes of Moura, Erickson and Llorente is more than capable! Mac catheter is ridiculously bias and his heart rules his head on most bets he seems to post! City to win the league and Barca to beat Liverpool for me! Oh and Spurs to win tomorrow
👌
Have to agree. Get a good laugh when anyone posts anything against his team then he straight online and typing like mad 😂😂 it’s like he just criticises everyone who goes against him and if city are playing then he just backs other team double chance as a nap lol
It’s not the fact that you have gone against me at all,i don’t care who you back to be honest,as they say a fool and his money are soon parted,@shortee backing Burnley double was a bad bet eh,it wasn’t far away and it’s the first time i have backed against City,i must admit though Burnley double chance at 10/1 against Chelsea was very sweet indeed a good money spinner.
That’s my point though.this is a forum to discuss bets etc,now you point out that Spurs have plenty of firepower which isn’t true,Son missing which is a massive blow,no Harry Kane, yes they have Lucas Moura but who’s going to complement him.Llorente is hit and miss.
My bad it’s not the first time i backed against City,i also did Spurs to qualify against them, which again was another winner.
Mac i side with you here. I feel the ball has defo moved towards Ajax esp with Son out .Advantage of home soil in football is a thing of the past too.Ajax is the value bet here in my opinion. 9/4 . Also on Ajax and btts @5/1.B365.
Spurs are new to this level of football but Ajax are also, but when your seeing a football team going to Juventus and winning in the manner in which Ajax did then they have to be respected. If Son and Kane were available then i probably wouldn’t have taken Ajax and i would have left the game alone,as it is Spurs have no strength in depth, they just don’t have anybody that can come in for the missing players and do the same job.
