Top Football Tips

I FOCUSED on the Bundesliga on Tuesday and one team beat me – in fact I imagine they'll have beaten loads of people.

Leaders Borussia Dortmund stumbled to their first defeat of the season at lowly Fortuna Dusseldorf and that was my Top Treble beaten.

Greg had better luck with over 2.5 goals at Aberdeen v Dundee while HullShaker had a great day with three winners from three. Well done to them and all the other winners.

Man City would also have cost a few people, especially after Leicester fielded a weakened team, but they got there on penalties to make the EFL Cup semis along with shocktroops Burton.

Everyone will see a meeting with Burton as almost a bye to Wembley so tonight's ties take on even more importance. There is a North London derby between Arsenal and Spurs and Chelsea entertain Bournemouth.

Hopefully there will be goals galore at the Emirates after it finished 4-2 there recently while I expect Chelsea to edge out a Cherries side who have struggled against the big guns recently.

On the Continent there are five more games in the Bundesliga including Bayern Munich v RB Leipzig and Mainz v Eintracht Frankfurt.

In Holland, Portugal and Belgium there are also cup games while in the Scottish Premiership it's Hibs v Rangers and Celtic v Motherwell so lots to look at.

I've posted a separate Hibs v Rangers preview and there's no doubt if they play as they did in beating Celtic 2-0 on Sunday then Hibs have a chance of winning and I'm risking 2pts on them draw no bet.

As I state in my preview the last five meetings between the teams at Easter Road have produced 29 goals including a 5-5 draw last season so there's decent chance of btts here.

Add Mainz v Eintracht Frankfurt and Werder Bremen v Hoffenheim. Both teams have seen five out of six matches bring up this market as have four out of six on the h2h.

The last six on the h2h between Werder and Hoffenheim have seen both score and it's four our of five for both sides on current form.

There are seven French League Cup games including Monaco v Lorient, Nice v Guingamp and Amiens v Lyon and team news should be checked before having a bet. I'm taking a chance and including three teams on a moneyback fivefold but if you can hold off until teams are revealed then do so – and keep it low stakes.

The other two picks are Bayern Munich and mr orange's Heerenveen at Odin – and from what he says this should be a romp for the visitors.

Remember to look at welovebetting for their tips and video chat.

Really tough game to call at Easter Road tomorrow – thinking of going for cards and corners

Ryan Porteous loves a crunching tackle and is 9/4 to get booked which I fancy

    Should be a cracking game

FIrst time i watched him on Sunday, i was very impressed, future international.

As you said he loves a crunching tackle, up against Alfie should be a tasty battle, both to be carded is 17/2.

    Dutch Cup Wednesday

    ODIN 59 – Heerenveen

ODIN is a mid table third division side. They will play this game at the stadium of eerste divisie side Telstar.
I just can’t see Heerenveen have a lot of problems with this amateur team who don’t play at their own ground.
Heerenveen haven’t got a great season, but are still 8th in the Eredivisie. I m sure they will play their best team like they did in the last round. They can score with Zeneli (Kosovo striker) and Dutch talents Vlap and Lammers. Heerenveen also scored the most goals in the league behind Ajax and PSV and a total of 10 goals in their last 3 games.

Heerenveen -1.5 asian handicap @ 1.76 with Unibet or 888 just looks big to me

Nice story this morning that ODIN players have been betting on their own game in the previous round. It’s against FA rules and I can’t see this having a positive effect on their preparation.

Hello guys, long time no chat. Been very busy lately with family life, working, college and university. How everyone is doing well. Just thought I’d come on to put my thoughts on the Rangers game tonight. I have what I believe to be an excellent bet, it’s not for everyone and it’s by no means a cert. It is a speculative punt which is reflected in the odds. I think tonight’s game between Hibs and Rangers will be fiery and there’s always the potential for plenty of cards. Whilst most will be limping on the likes of Morelos to get booked at odds of 15/8, a player who is often overlooked is Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor. Not every bookie allows you to bet on goalkeepers receiving a booking but Bet365 do. McGregor can be a bit of a hot head at times and has picked up a few bookings this season. I had him on to get booked against Celtic in September and that bet came up at a massive 40/1. It’s unlikely I’ll see the 40/1 again however I’ll hope it’s decent odds. I really believe Allan McGregor will get booked either today against Hibs, Boxing Day against Hibs or on 29th against Celtic. To get booked today he is 20/1. This for me is such a huge price. To receive the first card you can have 80/1. I’m backing him fairly big as a single but I’ll also have a few quid on booking combinations.

    HIBS VS RANGERS TIPS

Allan McGrefor to be booked @ 20/1

Allan McGregor first booking @ 80/1

McGregor & Morelos to be booked @ 66/1

McGregor & Ambrose to be booked @ 150/1

McGregor, Tavernier & Ambrose to be booked @ 1500/1

Good luck guys if you decide to get on. There’s nothing else I can say other than I really think McGregor will get booked if not tonight then on Boxing Day or on 29th.

Expect a backlash from Celtic tonight and my home town team Motherwell too take a heavy beating in Glasgows Eastend. The Motherwell manager has stated that he will make changes tonight after losing 3 players too injury at Celtic Park around the same time last season. Motherwell have a more important home game on Saturday when they face fellow strugglers St Mirren at home and then a Lanarkshire Derby at Hamilton the following week with Killie at home sandwiched in between. Celtic are averaging 2.86gls scored per home match while Motherwell are averaging 2.1gls conceded away from home. Motherwell have scored just 17 times in their last 45 visits too Celtic Park while Celtic have bagged 101. Despite the struggles away from home Celtic have been impressive on home soil. Their last 3 homes on league duty seen them put 14 past Hibs(4-2) Hearts(5-0) & Killie(5-1) respectively. We should be netting at least 3+ against a rotated Motherwell side that shipped 7 at Ibrox not too long ago.

    O3.5tgls 3/1
    O4.5tgls 8/1

Celtic were so bad on Sunday I’m concerned about them winning easily.
They were brilliant against Killie but Christie’s a big miss and Edouard has gone cold and that’s a problem as he’s Rodgers’s only fit striker.

    • Avatar of Brian Hendry
      mr h 6 years ago

Celtic are a different animal at home Mr F…For example, Edouard’s goals-per-game ratio dips from 1.33 at home to 0.37 in away games, he’s leads the league for shots on target ratio & he’s still the 3rd highest scorer in the country and Forrest is the second highest scorer in the country. We will have more than enough at home too see off Motherwell.just my opinion though and concerns are understandable

Maccathered can you please ignore United’s issues for once and focus more on how to punish the bookies….. United season had been written off long time ago at Brighton and hove followed with abysmal performance against westham…. But we united fans hoping ole going to rescue us from humiliation and give it all to protect the banner MUFC and take us out of the 6th position to probably 4th as the case maybe…. To ameliorate the situation, united need to dish out Paul Lebile Pogba because the dude is the originator of the fiasco in the team…… I can’t believe pogba’s attitudes so far…. I ask myself what shall it profits him if the team he claims he is the most important player in the crop of players, is performing badly and his status quo is diminishing in the hierarchy of top class players in the world? So pissed off with the dude, honestly typing…..

On the brightside, waiting until summer definitely means we’re vying for a manager that currently has a squad, if Blanc, Zidane or Jardim were truly in scope. They would’ve been signed by now a lot like Klopp when he took over at Liverpool he had half a year free and a January transfer window, to give him a rolling start.

The expectation now as a United fan is for us to tinker with our tactical alignments, reap through the squad and see whether or not the likes of Mason greenword, Gomes etc can get beneficial game time.

    Arsenal vs Tottenham
Considering the fierce rivalry between these two north London clubs, best tips to go with are:

    Both teams to score
    2nd half most scoring

I also fancy Lucas moura to get on the score sheet if he starts and eriksen to score as well from outside the box with a sublime rocket…..

Full time draw my take on this….
    Cs 2-2

    GOOD LUCK

IT may be the season of goodwill but try telling that to the players of Hibernian and Rangers as they clash in an important league match at Easter Road. Cards aplenty in Rangers games this season and I don’t see this being any different.

    Hibernian v Rangers (KO 7.45pm)

The visitors have been involved in plenty of matches this season where the card count has been excessive and a trip to Edinburgh, under the floodlights in front of a full house is exactly what I’m are looking for.

I expect this to be a bruising encounter and there are plenty of players on show who like to get stuck in or are prone to losing the head.

Hibs come into this revitalised after back to back wins and most notably s 2-0 defeat of Celtic on Sunday. That was a terrific result in a match which had real intensity and they will be looking to continue that tonight.

For Hibs, Stevie Mallan, Mark Milligan and Ryan Porteous are all likely to be in the thick of the action, especially Milligan who has collected bookings in 5 of his last 7 games. Young Porteous absolutely loves a tackle and although he’s only picked up three cards this season, is in with a shout to get one tonight.

Rangers as well all know have had a real discipline problem this season, none more so than striker Alfredo Morelos who has 6 booking and 2 red cards to his name, He’s a hot and its no surprise he’s priced the lowest priced player to receive a card.

Scott Arfield and Ryan jack will be right in the thick of things too so worth considering for a card, the former with two bookings in his last three games.

The way Rangers play, they are always good for a corner ( they got 23 on Sunday albeit against a poor Hamilton side) and Hibs will be no slouches in attack.

    Recommended Bets:

•Ryan Porteous (Hibs) to be booked
    •5/2 (Unibet)
•Mark Milliagn (Hibs) to be booked
    •15/8(Bet365)
•Ryan Jack (Rangers) to be booked
    •5/1(Willim Hill)
    •Scott Arfield to be booked
    •12/5 (Bet365)

ALL 4 pay 200/1 (Bet365)- Morelos and Mallan also likely candidates) – Back Mallan if Milligan doesn’t start 12/5

    •Over 10 match corners
    •5/6 (Bet365)

Mr Fixit, Bet365 allow you to add both on their bet builder. Take tonight hibs vs Rangers game for instance. You can back both keepers to get booked at 20/1 as singles or both to get booked on the bet builder is 400/1. Last old firm game I had McGregor and Gordon tonget booked at odds of 2000/1. Had a £5 on the double and was waiting for Craig Gordon to get booked for £10k. Thought he was going to get one nearer full time due to time wasting. Bet365 is only bookie i believe you can d this with. Betvictor allows you to price it up but there’s no goalkeepers included.

So Bet365 won’t pay out as it was after the final whistle. Their customer service is appalling though and not concerned with customer retention. Not even willing to offer a free bet as any form of good will but offered my pal £50 in free bets. Will be back on to them in the morning.

I know you are a big Hibs fan JohnB
but do you honestly believe Rangers are going to come to Easter road and concede 4 goals?

Wouldn’t read too much into Hibs beating Celtic.
Was Hibs first good performance in 8 matches and Celtic were abysmal due to The tactics and team selection.

Hibs will be competitive and are capable of winning. Wouldnt be a surprise if they won but to have them to score 4 goals against the team top of the legaue is some call – it’s highly highly unlikely

    BTTS –

    Bremen/Hoffenheim
    Arsenal/Spurs
    Hibs/Rangers

    2.74/1

Should be goals in Germany tonight, all the four 7.30 kicks off could be BTTS which pays out 5.77/1

    Bremen/Hoffenheim –

Looking into this one there are two evenly matched teams in the table that score goals. Hoffenheim have drawn the last four league games bit have scored in every away game whilst Bremen have scored in every home game.

Bremen have drawn 3 games this season 1-1 whilst Hoffenheim have drawn 2 games this season 1-1. 4 of the last 9 games between these sides have finished 1-1.

    Draw and BTTS – 15/4
    1-1 – 8/1
    2-2 – 11/1

It’s fight week and two massive domestic fights to look forward to, I’ll be in attendance to the Warrington/Frampton fight and having backed Warrington at 2/1 against Selby I’ll be taking odds of 7/4 for him to defy the odds again and beat Frampton; styles make fights and I think this could be a cracker, fight of the year dust type contest, both men won’t take a backward step and although I see it going the distance odds of 4/11 are too skinny for me but I’ll be having a punt on the following

    Warrington to win @ 7/4 – 5 points
    Draw @ 20/1 – 1 point

Whyte vs Chisora should be interesting, Whyte has improved significantly since his only defeat to AJ and the first fight was a out and out brawl and I see no change here. Interesting to see how Chisora performs under the tutelage of Haye but I see Whyte taking the spoils again, two bets I like are

Fight to go the distance @ 8/11 – 3 points
Either fighter to be knocked down @ 6/5 – 2 points
Both fighters to be knocked down @ 11/2 – 1 point

    • Avatar of Dean Rogers

The 20/1 draw definitely worth a lady godiva.

I was on the draw @25/1 in the Fury robbery as well.

Going to be very tight but I believe Frampton will take it (close one) on cards.

Chisora fight got to be fireworks in that one like last time hopefully. I’ve got O7.5 rnds & O8.5 in 2 accas.

Murray for the straight win @8/11 as well.

      Enjoy the boxing 🥊 Cheers

Can’t find markets available anywhere but the Bolivian game between Destroyers and Uni Sucre is screaming cards.
Destroyers must win to avoid automatic relegation and U Sucre need to win to avoid the relegation play offs.
History says cards and with the added pressure there’s gonna be plenty of cards and I would be really surprised if not at least one red
Like I say I can’t find any markets with the sites I use including terminals in shops.
