SOME good Friday games to look at including Hertha Berlin v Bayern Munich, St Etienne v Monaco and in the Championship Bristol City v Aston Villa and Sheffield Wednesday v Leeds.
As usual my full focus is on Saturday's card and once I've finished writing my Daily Record column I'll have a look at other Friday tips.
For now I'm putting up Partick Thistle draw no bet at a Dunfermline side who have gone right off the boil and are struggling to score. It's no worse than a 50-50 game for the Jags so 5-2 is too big a price and means Jags draw no bet pays 6-4 at McBookie.
Regulars such as Greg will have something and there is of course French Ligue 2 and Dutch Eerste games to consider.
Well done to all the winners yesterday – I wasn't about much and my 1pt treble was a loser with Alaves failing to beat Getafe at home.
Remember to have a look at welovebetting for their tips and video chat.

Clermont Foot v Ajaccio GFCA (7pm)
The hosts have had a decent start to the season and after a poor opening three games were they collected just one point they are unbeaten in their last 5 collecting 11 points.
It’s their home form that stands out for me – Only rampant Metz have left here with three points this season, they have lost just one of their last 14 home games and looking back further they have lost just 5 of their last 26 games league games on home soil.
Ajaccio come into this off the back of two poor results, a 4-1 hammering at Brest, they then gave bottom club Nancy their first three points of this season in a 1-0 defeat. Like a lot of French clubs they often suffer from travel sickness and their record away from home is grim reading, 10 defeats from their last 14 games( just two wins) and with just 4 wins from their last 24, it’s going to be a tough ask to take something from this game against a side who are one of the form teams in the league and who are strong at home
Clermont are unbeaten in 9 of their last 12 against todays visitors and I’m taking them to continue their good run of results
Recommended Bet
Clermont Foot to Win 4/5
(4/5) (Bet365) (NAP)
AC Ajaccio v Valenciennes (KO 7pm)
You have to feel for the Ajaccio fans – there can’t be too many clubs out there who have failed to score in 5 consecutive games but that’s what Ajaccio fans have had to endure – one solitary goal is all they have had to cheer in their last 7 matches which is an appalling return.
Historically Ajaccio do most of their good work at home and I feel they won’t have to wait too much longer to end their 460 minute goal drought
Valenciennes got their season back on track with a good 4-1 home win over struggling Red Star but away from home they have struggled – just 2 clean sheets from their last 21 on the road always makes life difficult but they have scored in their last 8 matches away from home and with 11 of the last 14 meetings between these sides seeing both teams scoring I think this is worth a chance
Recommended Bet

Man U to win? That has to be a typo ;-)
Simon Terodde. I think seanireland has mentioned this chap before. FC Cologne back in action tonight and he’s 8/11 with bet365 to score anytime. I was on him to bag 2 plus earlier in the week at 4/1 and he duly obliged. You can get 3/1 for another brace tonight. Tougher opposition so will likely take the price to score anytime. Only 7 games into the season and his goals are well into double figures.
On Terodde to score for Cologne anytime @ 19/20 betway scored 6/7 games 14 goals so worth keeping onside whilst in this form again this evening.
Your man had a very good goalscoring record for Bochum against tonight’s opponents 👍
He’s done it again! 👍
Cupla home teams that look decent value tomorrow….
Newport at home to Cambridge. After 9 games County are 3rd, 16 places & 11 points above Cambridge in 19th. Newport 6 wins in 9 and have been pretty solid apart from a home game horror show against Yeovil that ended 6-0. United have 2 wins in 9 with 5 losses. 3 of the losses came against teams in and around Newport at the top… Carlisle, Exeter and Colchester. The home side have won the last 4 H2H
Newport 11/8
East Fife at home too Stenhousemuir. The home side have won their last 4 on the trot amd entertain bottom club Stenny. East Fife started badly with 6 straight losses but have since picked up with 5 wins in 7 including impressive showings knocking out Championship Partick Thistle in the Challenge Cup,a 2-2 draw at Raith plus a 2-1 home victory over Airdrie. Stenny have been nothing short of rotten most weeks with 9 defeats in 12 while failing too score in 7,theyve lost all 5 on the road and a trip too inform East Fife should extend that too 6.
East Fife Evens
Double 15/4
After originally expecting a no bet day yesterday, I was fortunate to see two late goals in Georgia land my speculative effort. I’m drawn to the same market again today, but with a little more confidence. The Eerste Divisie hasn’t been quite as goal-laden as you’d expect so far, but NEC are doing their best to entertain following their relegation from the top tier.
NEC Nijmegen v Go Ahead Eagles
In the few years I’ve followed this league, NEC have always been one of the standout sides – getting themselves promoted or ending up near the top of the table. They traditionally see goals, too and that pattern has resumed since the start of this campaign. BTTS and Overs has landed in 6 of their 7 games (including against top tier Excelsior in the cup midweek), with their only clean sheet coming up against a Dordrecht side that have started poorly.
They welcome top of the table Go Ahead Eagles who, while comparatively tighter at the back, have conceded in each of their three away games. This has the makings of a cracker and, for fans of H2H records, all 6 previous meetings have seen BTTS land, with 4 of those 6 seeing at least another goal.
BTTS is priced much better than expected here (1/2), so I’m taking the chance on it landing with an extra goal for good measure.
BTTS & O2.5 Match Goals @ 4/5 (SkyBet)

I’m looking to tomorrow’s card, but I have already posted one of my main fancies (Liverpool O1.5TG) on yesterday’s thread with a full write-up. Will likely re-post tomorrow.
In Play 10 mins – NA Hussein Dey U21 HT Result 5/2 @ Bet 365
Morning gents,
Fair to say it’s been a rubbish week – a combination of little time, poor cards and even poorer selections has conspired against me but hoping to get back.on track with a late night Brasilian…
PAYSANDU VS. GOIAS (2315):
Interesting game this one as two teams go head to head with plenty to play for but at opposite ends of the table!
Hosts Paysandu have been on a dire run but have harvested 6 valuable points from their last 5 games (3 draws, 1 win 1 loss) which sees them potentially leapfrogging out of the relegation places and above Juventude into 16th spot.
This recent resurgence has also seen an upturn of team goals with the last 3 home fixtures seeing 1, 2 and 3 for Paysandu although they’ll need everything they have got as Goias come to town.
The visitors sit a comfortable 2nd place and can close the gap on leaders Fotraleza to just 4 points with a win tonight; they are in fine fettle and have netted 2-2-0-2-3-0-2-2-3 team goals in their last 9 consecutive games.
With the last 2 H2Hs finishing with 2-1 scorelines, I think there’s every chance of a bit of action as both teams try to squeeze out a result in what could be a great game with some good value:
Two selections to consider:
BTTS…5/6
(Bet365)
🌟🌟🌟🌟
GOIAS OVER 1.5 TGS…13/8
(Bet365)
🌟🌟🌟
****************************************
Another SA game that could be worth a look hails from the Chilean Primera and, again, features another host side down in the doldrums:
SAN LUIS VS. HUACHIPATO (0000)
I’m taking Huachipato to hit the hosts where it hurts and to grab a brace which I’ll double with Goias:
OVER 1.5 TGS DOUBLE…6/1
(Bet365)
🌟🌟
Best of luck 👍
St. ETIENNE V MONACO
Monaco won their first game of the season but since then have picked up just 3pts from their next 6 games and look up against it tonight against the hosts who’s only defeat came at PSG. They have picked up 10pts from 12 at home and at 21/20 boyles look value to keep that run going.
St. Etienne win 21/20

A winner at last 👍
Apologies to the site for my usual input re: Derby this past 2 matches, personal stuff has got in the way of stuff I could of and should of shared.
As you know, Derby had a stinker against Rotherham and Tom Lawrence ( free kick taker, left winger ) got a straight red and Rotherham capitalised with a winner via the penalty spot not long after. He got a 3 match ban. Derby were awful.
Next came Blackburn. Derby played like a team possessed in the first half, how it reached halftime still at 0-0 is beyond me. We hit the post, had 2 goal line clearances + a plethora of solid chances to be going into the break easily 3 or 4 up. The ht stats in Derby’s favour was frightening. I did at some point during that match give you the stats, it was something like 73% possession, 20 to 3 dangerous attacks.
The 2nd half wasn’t as thrilling, we did have a Mason Mount freekick hit the bar, but Blackburn did grow into the game. Sadly for them, it only really softened up the stats a little over the full 90 minutes, but Derby should of been home and dry by the midpoint.
Up next we entertained Brentford, a team that had never won in Derby since I think 1939. I’m sure my dad has socks that are older than their last victory at Derby. The price for Derby win was a serious bookie cock-up. 9/4 with bet365. If Derby played half as well against Brentford as we did in the last match, we’d thump them. I dropped a £10 on them pre-kick off.
Brentford kicked off, went down the wing, got a corner, scored from it on 44 seconds. Just for a few seconds I did panic a little, but then I saw Derby turn up the dial and I sat back having just thrown another in-play £10 @ 6/1 for the Derby win, we got three goals with several minutes of the 1st half still to play. Derby kind of sat back a little the 2nd half and Brentford did occasionally threaten, but it ended a confident 3-1 victory for the Rams.
This next one was a little tricky, Man Utd away in the league cup. Man Utd knocked us out of the FA cup earlier in the year to end our winning streak in January. That ended 2 nil, but Derby put up a very spirited fight for 70 odd minutes in that match. I know all the talk pre-kickoff was about Pogba, but having seen him 8 months ago, whoever valued him at £89 million, needs shooting. He didn’t look like a £89,000 player. Man Utd 2 late goals and quite predictably, they progressed.
Man Utd on Tuesday were priced around 2/7, Derby around 14/1. Guess where I put my money ??? Derby seemed to of found their groove, Man Utd seemingly with the weight of their fans on their shoulders and a manager on the ropes. With a former player in charge for just his 12th game – Lampard facing his old Chelski boss.
I slept way too long and awoke around 10.30pm and Radio Derby were still rabbitting on about the game, I grabbed a brew, rolled a smoke and started to wake up. I realised Derby had knocked out Man Utd !!! You know when a radio commentator tells you everything you don’t want to know and nothing you need to know, like the score, the scorers, the goal time etc, Groundhog day. I fired up the tinterweb and nearly cried. They scored on 3.5 minutes, Derby equalised with a superb Harry Wilson direct freekick ( the first scored against the reds in any competition at old Trafford in 2+ seasons ), the goalkeeper sending off, The excellent 85th minute possible winner, the 94.5th minute equaliser courtesy of a fellaini header. And he used late sub Wisdom to climb all over. Gutted. But, we won 8-7 on penalties.
I can’t blame sleep for missing out on a cashout because either I’d of held on till the whistle or bet365 would of frozen all the cashouts conveniently.
The win against Brentford and the way we played gave me a renewed sense of belief that Derby could play the way the gaffer wants us to. Prior to the League cup game ( after we won the previous round ) I though Man Utd would end our cup run, but Man Utd had a wretched month and as the game drew closer, I felt Derby could cause an upset if they played a weakened team and we fielded our best.
I looked on YouTube and saw the extended highlights, I expected to see a one way assault on Derby’s back line, it looked like that early on and Man Utd should of been home and dry by ht, but Derby did constantly threaten with very good chances throughout. The end stats suggested Derby matched them !!
Mourhino is a terrific manager and I believe he needs another year, but Man Utd fans are like Newcastle fans, they demand instant success. If Man Utd stick with Mourhino, he’ll build his own legacy. I remember long back, when Alex Ferguson was appointed Man Utd’s manager, he was at some point 1 or 2 games from the sack, now look at what he did during his reign. A knighthood, a cupboard full of silverware, a statue, a stand in the ground named after him and 20 years of being one of the best teams in the world.
The Brentford win would be a shot in the arm for the confidence levels in the Derby dressing room, sticking with the same team and all be it winning on penalty’s against Man Utd will make us feel like we can compete with anybody.
Bring on Bolton !! Bolton have only failed to lose against us once in the last 6x head to heads, We did the league double on them last year and I think we have 3 wins on the bounce against them.
Sorry about the ” War and Peace “, but I had a lot of ground to cover. Again apologies to the site for my lack of input. My brain is currently on ” night shift “, So I’ll repost this in tomorrow thread when it is up and I shall write my Bolton/Derby preview when you guys are catching your Z’s.
No worries – you owe us nothing. I’m on Derby anyway.
Thought you were celebrating that Man Utd win for the rest of the week.
@mrfixitstips I’ve just posted my ” War and Peace ” apologies, its a long read but its length is probably why it is awaiting moderation. There is some good stuff in there if you have chance to Ok it.
Thanks in advance.

Nice one Hull mate 👏
Some cracking winners, belter Hull, Greg and leroy and everyone else!!! Let’s roll it onto Saturday 👍
My only wee tip is regarding the Ryder cup…if Furyk decides to put out Mickleson in the Foursomes tomorrow afternoon then bet against him
…made a bit of profit today betting Garcia /Noren but should have put the mortgage on….sensibly of course 😂
Same goes for Finau if he happens to get a nod in foursomes… Far too inaccurate off the tee and the rough is proper rough…penal! Here’s hoping Europe can bring it home 👍
Good shouts – he’s going to have to play Mickelson having picked him.
