WE continue with the play-offs tonight with some big games in Scotland and England.
Down south it's West Brom v Aston Villa as the Baggies try to recover from a 2-1 first-leg away defeat. SlipsTips has posted a comprehensive preview and we're along the same lines.
West Brom will be without scorer Dwight Gayle who was sent off late on and that's a big blow.
The result means Villa's only defeat in 14 was a meaningless one against champions Norwich and they shouldn't throw this away.
The Baggies need to score and I believe they will even if Hal Robson-Kanu is still banned so Jay Rodriguez is likely to start up top. Villa don't tend to sit back so best bet could be both to score at 4-6 with William Hill.
Up north Inverness have completed stage one on the road back to the Premiership but are still miles away from promotion.
Next up for John Robertson's men are Dundee United who have shaded the h2hs this season and won at Inverness last month. Kevinmac has a full preview of this one.
United finished nine points clear of their Highland rivals but the sides are pretty evenly matched.
ICT beat Ayr 4-2 on aggregate to reach the semis but Robbo admitted they're feeling tired and are huge underdogs to qualify at 9-4 with bet365 while United are 8-15 with Sky Bet.
United have had nine days' rest while ICT are moaning about the three-day gap between their ties and they'll have to go again on Friday for the second leg.
To win tonight ICT are 7-4 with Ladbrokes while United are 17-10 at sportingbet and they'll be looking to take advantage of signs of fatigue.
I can see an edgy affair tonight that ends all square at 9-4 at McBookie but if I had to pick a winner it would be United so consider United draw no bet at 19-20 with Marathonbet.
Annan entertain Clyde in the League One final 1st leg and both sides are in good form. Clyde though finished eight points above their rivals and beat them three times in the regular season with the other a draw.
Clyde tempt at 44-25 with Marathonbet but I'm taking the game on a both to score double with WBA v Villa with four of the last five meetings bringing up the bet.
Elsewhere there are a handful of play-offs in Holland and Belgium that could be good for goals.
Last night my 10-1 Top Treble started well but red cards for Hamilton and Forest Green ended my hopes while Inter covered their -1 handicap.
Scott's members bet was a good one with Inter to win to nil and he'll have another today while Greg's Estonia goals bets both landed – he just loves that country.
Well done to all the other winners especially those with the red at St Mirren.
2pts Super Single
- Dundee Utd draw no bet
- (19-20, Marathonbet)
2pts Both to Score Double
- West Brom v Aston Villa
- Annan v Clyde
- (27-10, sportingbet)

Repeat of last nights post:
Whilst this bet failed to land for me in the Derby/Leeds game, it landed in the Villa/WBA game at around 23/1.
Sadly the price is a tad lower but has every chance of delivering again tonight. I’ve seen this on bet365 around +21/1
Villa win and btts Yes
over 12 corners total
over 4.5 cards total.
The Leeds write-up isn’t that far off right, but I don’t think it will make Lampard cry. I did say Derby needed to take a 2 goal lead to Elland Rd, otherwise we won’t be heading to Wembley. Sadly it seems that when Derby beat WBA and finished 6th, it seems Derby had hit their season aim and had little or no interest/motivation to go further. Top 6 was our aim, but the prospect of a £200 million windfall should be enough to motivate them. Derby were absent for much of the first tie, we had to go for it with home advantage and a 4-3-3, but sometimes, you have to stick rather than twist. I think a 4-2-3-1 at home and away would of been strategically more decisive for the rams. I had the same bet on Derby, but 2 goals and 4 corners short sunk the bet. I don’t think Derby will repeat the heroics of Liverpool or Tottenham and turn it around, and as I’d rather put my gentleman’s vegetables in a blender rather than bet against my beloved Derby against Leeds, it should not stop me posting up a meaty bet for the benefit of the site.
I’ve not checked the prices out for tomorrows game, but dare I say it:
Leeds win and btts YES
over 4.5 cards YES and then some
over 12 corners YES ( if Derby contribute more ). If you don’t think Derby will contribute more to the corners count, then consider having Leeds corners with a handicap, maybe -1 or -2.
Some bookies are a bit snooty when it comes to combining those 3 aspects, but bet365 seem to allow it. Have a tinker around with prices and either go with the handicap on corners or aim for 12+ total. The cards count in the last game could easily of been double those that were shown. On any other day, Klick could of got a straight red for his attempt at headbutting Tomori’s chest, maybe he needs some pointers from Zenedine Zidane. Bamford is back for Leeds after his ban, but Waghorn I think will not play again until August – Achilles injury.
My treble should give you a price of North of 20/1. Best of luck guys.
Looked at the odds that are now available, the bookies have lifted the cards line to overs 5.5 cards. Still like the look of it.
Villa to win and Btts YES @ 7/2
Overs 5.5 cards total @ Evens
Over 12 corners @ 2/1
pays 26/1 with bet365.
Good luck guys

So Manchester city could be banned from the Champions league for breaching financial fair play rules. Its obvious to all that the transfers and wages their pay doesn’t come from incoming revenue or sponsors unless of course the sponsorship itself comes from the same owners!…..There cant always fill the stadium or sell there ticket allocation. Lets hope more news wiill unravel.
City did that a few seasons back, got a sponsor deal worth way more than it was supposed to be. It was one of the owners many companies that ” paid ” for the sponsorship. The FA smelled a rat and they got a transfer embargo. That must of really hurt them, because their 3rd team was probably good enough to defeat most teams in the premier league. They’d cherry picked the best of the youngsters – to farm out and ripen via the loan system. Sadly it seems most of the top clubs have been doing it for years. One reason is they don’t want the rivals to have access to the up and coming talent. They part subsidize their wages, get the loan club to pay towards their upkeep, they get 1st team footie and very very rarely will any of these kids ever get the chance to play for their parent club. It’s a big problem in our league structure. It should be stopped or greatly limited somehow. These young kids 3 or 4 seasons into their career have played in 3 or 4 teams and they then get sold on at inflated prices. I know it’s business, but it sucks. Someone on here will probably call me a hypocrite – with Derby borrowing Wilson from Liverpool and Mount/Tomori from Chelsea. But if we don’t throw our hat in the ring and say ” come play for us “, someone else we’re competing with will. I guess the championship is the nurturing ground for these youngsters, just such a shame that those 3 I mentioned – and others, will get next to no chance of playing for these big clubs that got them to sign on their dotted line.

micky lfc Sound’s like a desperate liverpool fan
Winning Fair is winning, cheating is cheating, every other club has to abide by the laws so why not Man City.I always wondered how they could afford the vast amount of talent sat on the bench on £300,000 per week.
There have been suggestions that Barcelona and Madrid have been doing this for years .
Not saying they have cheated btw as nothing has been proven, but if they have then it’s not really a great achievement.
AFC Cup – 1.30 PM – 2 games
Will be on these again today, sticking to the formula that has worked the past 3 game weeks – first half goals, and overs.

On a side note I think it’s best keeping this forum to betting tips rather than it becoming another day of United/Liverpool/City rants which inevitably escalate into childish digs at each other.
………and becoming slightly tedious.
Like the look of these games for goals too Alex might join u on these bets
Yeah DC the bookies think there will be goals in these 2 games as well, hence the fairly low priced odds. There’s no value in taking these as singles though — other than perhaps O1.5 FHGls in the Home United game at 31/20 — which is why I’ve doubled up all 3 selections. As we know if 1 game is a damp squib then all 3 lose, but I do expect goals in both and taking the risk for the higher value.
Best of luck.
Like these too. I’ve done a multiway double bet on both games incorporating the following:
1.5 Fh goals
2.5 Fh goals
Both teams to score
2.5 goals
3.5 goals
4.5 goals
Hopefully both end 3-2 or similar!
Not very good games today☹️
Decent start but then second half nothing. Surprised with the Home United game in particular.
Lost. apologies if you followed.
Will be on it again next week though as does usually land.
True old Al but when a club amass 198 points in two seasons a feat that even the great Ferguson’s team couldn’t do you have to wonder……only a super squad on huge money could achieve
True enough Micky – they won’t be the only team running on/over the line, I can’t understand how the two Spanish giants get away with their wage bill,it seems all the players are on half a million a week if you believe the papers. ( present company excepted Mr F )
It’s nothing new. Most of the richest clubs do it some way or another.
As I’ve said before it’s all about money and UEFA do little to stop it.
Should have put a cap on wages and transfers a few years ago before it got out of hand.
