Top Football Tips

IT'S been a hectic week and good to see so many winners and some new contributors.

Since we've started it's been a team effort trying to beat the bookies and we're all here for the same thing.

I love Fridays and hate them at the same time. It's my busiest of the week and when I'm also working on the sports desk I hardly have time for a p***!

Friday nights are for lower-league Dutch and French games and for a years now loads of people have been on bets such as over 2.5 match goals in all games. So well done everyone who celebrated a 66-1 winner last night when Go Ahead Eagles completed the full house with an injury-time goal.

The only bet I put up was a French and Dutch goals combo from Greg and mr orange and unfortunately a 0-0 at Auxerre so just 1pt lost.

I've had some super Saturdays this season, some ordinary ones and some rubbish ones so let's hope it's a decent one as we approach the much-hated international break. Although it means more rounds of golf so it's not all bad.

No League One or League Two games in England today with the FA Cup first round taking place and while there will be some shocks there's a lot I like about the games. Thirty-two non-league sides are in action so it's a bit of a minefield.

I'd picked most of my accas before even getting round to studying them so I've picked out a moneyback fivefold as well as the usual one and that was posted on Friday. I've changed the bookie to McBookie as William Hill have stopped their moneyback offer.

In Scotland there's just three Premiership games with Aberdeen beating Hibs 1-0 on Friday and Rangers and Celtic not in action until Sunday because of Europa League duty so it's not the easiest card but hoping for some winners.

Most of my tips are reasoned on the Scottish and English previews and remember to check out the VIP tips for members only. I've had plenty of winners including four draws at 150-1 last week.

There are four more up today but chances of doing them back to back are roughly 21,000-1 so don't have a moan if they don't trap – although I did it once in the Daily Record many moons ago.

Remember to check out the excellent WeLoveBetting site for their tips and video chat.

TOMMY Wright’s St Johnstone are looking to make it 5 wins on the spin tomorrow and it’s great to see the bookiesaren underestimating us

    St Johnstone v Hamilton (K0 3pm)

What a difference a month makes. Since
a 6-0 hammering from Celtic, the Perth side have responded in style winning all 4 games since then without conceding and they have a terrific chance to make it 5 wins on the spin as they host struggling Hamilton.

Will St Johnstone continue a winning run? Check out my indepth St Johnstone v Hamilton preview.

    📍3pm Nap📍

    🔹NAP – 3 games over 1.5 goals – FA CUP🔹

After many hours spent looking through stats for goals the 6 teams that I have chosen for the nap in 3 games are as follows:

    •Lincoln City v Northampton 2/7
    •Plymouth v Stevenage 2/7
    •Sutton v Slough 1/4

I chose Lincoln based a lot on their home form and their ability to score as well as concede, 4 of their last 5 home and away have seen over 1.5 achieved and also Northampton have won 4 from their last 5 and 4 of those have seen them score over 1.5 TEAM goals as well as the matches having over 1.5 goals. I don’t need to list their scores etc as people can do that themselves but this is my first choice.

Next up is the Plymouth match and they played Sunderland last week who was part of our nap to win and I done an extensive preview in regards to how poor they are. They sit 22nd in the league and 3 points off bottom. They have only scored a total of 18 goals across 17 games with 29 shipped now. Their last 5 in a row at home have all saw 1.5 achieved and their opponents Stevenage are a league below and sitting 8th and there last 3 have saw 1.5 goals achieved and are expected to make changes for younger players and I expect this to contribute to at least 2 goals combined.

Last up we have Sutton from the national league against slough from the national league south. Slough has seen their last 5 games ship 7 goals and a total of 17 goals in those 5 games. Their opponents Sutton are a decent side at home only losing 2xs in 10 games and they are favourites for this as leagues above. I can however see slough at least nicking 1 goal and I really don’t care who wins as long as there is 2 goals in the game.
On those stats and form again I’ll be happy to have them as my nap

Early post for Saturday on what’s a pretty tight domestic card but one game has kept my interest all week…

    CHESTERFIELD VS. BILLERICAY TOWN
    (1500 KO):

FA Cup action at The Proact Stadium and by hook or by crook, Billericay battled their way out of Essex via a win against Taunton to pave their way up that great Asphalt pathway to the North.

I’ll not regurgitate what I’ve posted about Tamplin’s money buying a way above standard squad for their step but it’s a pretty impressive Billericay beast that meets in Chesterfield and given the hosts pattern of low-scoring and drawn games, the lower league side have every chance of heading back down The Great North Road with the bit firmly between their teeth.

    Two selections to consider here:

    BTTS…4/5
    (Coral)
    🌟🌟🌟🌟

    DRAW…23/10
    (Coral)🌟

    Best of luck 👍

Saved me posting the 1-1 draw! There won’t be a lot between the two sides, in fact I’d say we are probably a worse side than them. Seen them priced at 13/5 looks way too big.

    • Avatar of HullShaker
      HullShaker 6 years ago

Morning Scampi – I see your gaffer Martin Allen has even said as much that Billericay will be favourites given their form!

      You off to the game?

    • Avatar of Luke Mason
      scampi 6 years ago

Yes despite 16 games without a win and consecutive relegations in the two seasons before I’ve still been persuaded to go as usual!

I think Allen’s attempting to take the pressure off the side a little with his comments. I said when the draw was made it’s a horrible tie for us. We massively lack a goalscorer hence we can only usually score 1 every week (and its been Jonathan Smith for the last 3 goals) and Billericay seem to get a lot of goals

    • Avatar of HullShaker
      HullShaker 6 years ago

Yep, Allen offloading a bit of pressure onto Billericay there – good on you for sticking at it as a Spireite 👍

J-League starts shortly and I see a thumping heading Nagoya’s way. Certainly a big one for a goal alert!

    Shimizu S-Pulse v Nagoya:
Shimizu are playing well this year, playing attacking football and equal 2nd highest goalscorers in the league. They do concede goals, but are putting them past every team. Nagoya are simply terrible, leaking goals badly. The only reason they didn’t in the last round, was more down to Cerezo’s really poor attacking ability than anything else.

This game screams goals (to me at least).
    Over 3 goals @ 1.92 (NAP)
    Over 4 goals @ 3.45
    Over 5 goals @ 7.0

    • Avatar of Ashe Potter
obi wan cannoli 6 years ago

ffs. Shimizu got 2 goals, and then just dinked the ball around with no attempt to even try for a third… so many missed goal opportunities. Apologies for any who followed.

In the A-League, I really don’t like the look of the Wanderers v Roar game, so am leaving it alone. My gut says it should be a home win, based on form and history… but I really don’t like it. The second game though, I do fancy quite a bit.

    Newcastle Jets v Sydney FC:
Jets play host to Sydney FC, in what is currently a top vs bottom clash. Jets have lost two and drawn one of their opening three games. They enter this one without suspended O’Donovan, as well as not having Champness or Koutroumbis. Jets are looking terrible overall, and fairly toothless in attack so far.

I’m the first to admit, I thought that the Sky Blues would suffer this season, from such a huge mixup of their squad. But again, they are looking like one of the strongest teams, with Le Fondre proving yet another shrewd signing for the club, putting away goal after goal.

I like the look of a Sydney win today, with goals being a feature, and if they are, Le Fondre almost certainly will be amongst those scoring.

    Tips:
Adam Le Fondre – atgs @ 2.05 (NAP)
    Sydney win @ 2.15
    Over 2.5 @ 1.90

    Eredivisie – Saturday

    VVV v Fortuna Sittard

This is a derby between two teams from the province of Limburg on Saturday night. VVV is doing very well this season and are 6th in the table. It’s a team that is very difficult to beat, especially in away games where they often just defend. They only conceded more than 1 goal in 1 game this season and that was away at PSV. They scored 11 goals this season and 6 of them were scored in 3 home games. They scored more than 1 goal in 3 games this season and 2 of these games were at home. In home games they play a bit more attacking style, but still let the opponent have the ball.

Fortuna Sittard is a promoted side and are doing fine this season in 10th place. They are scoring and conceding a lot this season with 21 goals scored and 21 goals conceded in 11 games. They only failed to score in 1 game this season and that was against Ajax. In 5 of their 5 away games both teams found the net and 4 of 5 saw over 2.5 goals. 9 of Fortuna’s 11 games this season saw BTTS and 8 of 11 saw over 2.5 goals. I think Fortuna can score in Venlo and I think we will see at least 3 goals in this game.

    Over 2.5 match goals @ 1.75

First tip yesterday was a looser the derby failed to excite in most areas yesterday and the cards just didn’t get flowing like expected.

On to today with my NAP Barnsley to score 3+ Goals 5/4 (coral)

Goals have dried up lately for us however on our day this season we can really give teams a beating. I usually approach the f.a cup with caution due to line ups and nature however on Tuesday we had a famous chekatrade trophy match against Everton under 21’s followed by another checkstrade match Tuesday which means nothing to us other than another run out for our substitutes as we have qualified for the next round. Therefore today’s team should be a strong one and if starting kieffer Moore could easily notch a couple. All this along with notts counties defensive worries leads me to strong enough reason that we should put at least 3 past the vistors today.

    BURY VS. DOVER:

I suspect we won’t be making to many changes to the starting X1 as a decent Cup run would bring in some much needed financial revenue – if he starts, the main man (and candidate for Sky’s POTM) might just get stuck into the action at Fortress Gigg:

    DORTMUND VS BAYERN
    ———————————-
This is THE game in german football and the advantage is on Dortmunds side. So I am with Dortmund tonight, also because the odds are too high again. Last game vs. Athletico they lost, but played still very well.
    – Dortmund did not lose at home this season yet (6W, 2D)
    – Dortmund scored at home always 2 or more goals this season (4-3-7-3-4-4-2-2)
    – Munich is still struggeling to find constancy, they have been playing vs weak teams except Hertha away (0:2) and Gladbach at home (0:3) and vs Ajax (1:1) and they did’nt look also good agains Augsburg and Freiburg at home (both 1:1)

    Possible bets:

Dortmund v Bayern. 40 or more booking points. 1.80 skybet. This for me is a ridiculous price. Bayern are hurting after a bad start to the league and Dortmund at home will do everything to not lose points and stay top of the league. I reckon this will be feisty and the price for 4 or more cards is crazy value in my opinion

Whilst Newcastle finally notched their first win of the season last weekend, I personally don’t think this is the start of a resurgence. Watford were all over Newcastle but squandered countless opportunities, and really were poor in front of goal. Bournemouth have travelled one of the longest distances in the Premier League fixtures to get to Newcastle, could be a slight factor but I don’t think so. They were unlucky not to get a point against my team last weekend, they’ve been excellent this season, lots of creative, attractive football and look dangerous. I just feel they will have too much quality for Newcastle today. Taking the double chance for the NAP given they’re away, long distance travelled etc.

West Ham are looking sharp, we all know about Arnie’s ability, and Felipe Anderson is looking deadly. Both players could punish Huddersfield today, and I think they will do just that.
Huddersfield are another team I don’t see rising like a phoenix from the flames, the win during the week was a much needed victory for them, but Fulham were tragic, and that game was a fight off between who’s the poorer of the two on the day. West Ham should win here but i’m taking draw no bet for a little bit of insurance for the NAP.

    –Double–
    Bournemouth double chance
    West Ham draw no bet
    6/5
    **NAP**

    –4Fold–
    Bournemouth draw no bet
    West Ham
    Leicester
    St Johnstone (Greg)
    10/1

Only concern I have with Leicester is they are missing Maddison, who’s featured heavily in their playmaking, but they should still have enough to get over the line.

    Also on the following German Bundesliga accas;

All 6 games Over 2.5 mgls
    19/1

All 6 games Over 1.5 mgls
    2/1

    All 6 games BTTS

Agree about Bournemouth, Alex, almost thinking about taking them in a double with Norwich; played well last week; are an established Premiership side which is nothing short of remarkable given a 11k capacity stadium or thereabouts. Eddie Howe is a good young manager that talks well and will go on to bigger things no doubt, and when you look at them alongside Newcastle ; 5x capacity and have flattered to deceive since the heady heights of Keegan as manager. How Watford never scored last week let alone won I’ll never know, and their faithful can only hope that they can build on the result. How long can Benitez put up with Ashley’s off the field negative publicity.

old age creeping in fell asleep last night when came home from work and never got a bet on, been sticking a fiver on overs in holland for years too and not landed for ages……………. the one night i miss out ffs………….

today, tough old card and fancy games later on but one i think may have a chance at good odds is QOS to win at Ayr, queens are have been a bit of a bogey team for Ayr recently and despite slipping down the league in recent weeks still no mugs……………

    QOS win btts 5/1

another that may be worth a small stake is overs in the superatten, last games of the season kick off at 3pm and last week of the season usually sees plenty goals………………

Rugby: Boks absolutely dominated Eng but somehow managed to lose. Atrocious reffing aside (Clear penalty disallowed etc), the Boks should’ve put the game to bed in the 1st half. Reckon they’re come out firing against the French & have alot of players back. You never know with the French cause they just might turn up but I’m going with the Boks. Usually in-plays in the big games but for now I’m on SA race to 20 (10/11). Wales win vs Aus (4/5). Italy under 26.5 points (10/11). Eng penalty before 22:30 (5/6). R.Ioane try (5/6). Double: Argentina +22.5 & NZ HT/FT (11/10).

Football: Well the draw a fair result at the Emirates last week. Salah looked pretty cumbersome but can’t blame him as he must’ve seen that statue of himself. As always, the Gunners have been playing some irresistible football but are showing that newfound resilience. You gotta remember this Arsenal team is in transition and I said Emery would need time but tbh he’s done remarkably well so far & exceeded all expectations. Arsenal vs Wolves over 2.5 & btts (21/20). Double: Corner in the 1st 10 min. in the Newcastle & Watford games (6/4). Under 29.5 Premier League goals over Sat/Sun (10/11). Liverpool highest scoring team on Sat/Sun (15/8).

UFC: Easy street for DC again as I predicted. Sets up a fight with Brock Lesnar now & he’ll absolutely destroy the kid! Theres levels to this & DC is the GOAT! Waiting for the markets but I’ll be all over DC via KO/TKO/Submission. He most likely retire after that or possibly finish with a fight against Jones….if Jones can keep his shite together. UFC: Ramos, Barber, De La Rosa treble (5/6). Yair Rodriguez (evens). Longshot-Cowboy Cerrone to win (7/4). Enjoy!

    Final score 1-1 😀

    BTTS…4/5
    (Coral)
    🌟🌟🌟🌟

    ***WON***

is it possible to do an 1-1 acca for a few of their future games? hmmm

We are just an average side, we play defensively enough to not concede many and that also means we don’t score many either, we are just going to get these kind of results regularly. The replay will probably be a similar game possibly even penalties

After many hours spent looking through stats for goals the 6 teams that I have chosen for the nap in 3 games are as follows:

One to keep an eye on for cards today. 3.15. la Liga. Getafe v Valencia. Mad h2h for cards. Valencia fighting for points as league position is not good. Line at bet365 currently 6.5. definitely achievable based on h2h. Waiting to see if akybet price up and offer better lines.

Ended with 7 cards. Red counts as 2 for bet365. Bookies got the line right but that is a winner!

What a game. 5 goals, Dortmund beat Bayern. Last minute equaliser ruled offside and most importantly 6 yellow cards, so that means we have a winner!! Bookies got that wrong!

DEPORTES LIMACHE VS. TOMÁS GREIG (2000 KO):

This could be worth a look – top placed Limache taking on a pretty poorly Tomas Greig outfit whom they thumped 1-4 away from home back in July.

Things have gone from bad to worse for the visitors since then and 7-3-4 goals conceded in their last 3 successive away matches speaks volumes – they could be in for a long night and I’m taking on 2 speculative picks at low stakes:

    OVER 4.5 MGS…13/8
    (PaddyPower)
    🌟🌟🌟

    OVER 5.5 MGS…7/2
    (PaddyPower)
    🌟

    Best of luck 👍
