THERE was a tale of the unexpected as Celtic joined Arsenal and Chelsea in the last 32 of the Europa League.
Brendan Rodgers' side were on the way out when they trailed 2-0 to Red Bull Salzburg but Rosenborg dug deep to level late on against RB Leipzig and earn the Scots a reprieve.
It was a great escape especially as it was Rosenborg's first point and while Celtic were poor last night as Rodgers pointed out the group is decided over six games and they did enough.
Hard to see them progressing further but a tie with Genk or Villarreal – who topped Rangers' group – will give them a chance and they'll hope to avoid seeds such as Arsenal, Chelsea, Sevilla and Napoli.
Well done to all the winners last night and there were plenty as usual including HullShaker and Greg.
My two trebles weren't close on a card I don't enjoy when so many teams have nothing to play for.
Friday sees Sheffield United v West Brom and Livingston v Hearts as well as the usual matches so watch out for tips. If pushed I'd go for goals in the Championship and a draw at Livi. Hearts have been better with Christophe Berra back and Livi are playing their third game in seven days so could feel the pace.
While I have nothing for Friday yet I'm putting up Saturday's Super Single now. St Johnstone are too big at 23-20 with Ladbrokes at home to Motherwell and Greg agrees with me this should be a home win for his men. Form, stats and h2h all favour Saints so they could go off nearer evens.

Very pleased the main bet won, bit gutted about the corners falling 2 short on build a bet!
For anyone interested, all Eerste Divisie matches overs is 66/1 on Skybet specials but 72.5/1 on bet365, again with the cash out option. I think it is unlikely this week as a couple of the matches are bottom of the table clashes which tend to be cagey and tight affairs.

Cardiff Met may not be in their best form but they are a decent side and the artificial home turf can certainly make a difference as seen in their 4-1 mullering of TNS back in late September and some big wins late last campaign against the likes of Bala, Barry and Newtown.
What attracts me even more though, is their opponents own form and their away form in particular; Llanelli’s last 8 league matches have seen them concede 1-7-6-5-1-3-3-3 goals – it’s a damning picture and one that’s sure to see them back down in the Welsh feeder leagues come next season.
Cardiff Met ran out 0-2 winners back in October and my moneys on them going at least one better tomorrow evening:
