LIVERPOOL are facing a titanic battle to qualify for the Champions League last 16 and really must beat basement boys Genk tonight.
Napoli and Salzburg are tough rivals but something has to give when they meet in Austria – so the holders have to take advantage.
Jurgen Klopp's men were below par at Man United on Sunday but will be boosted by the return of Mo Salah who was badly missed.
Liverpool are short enough at 3-10 with Marathonbet against a side that held Napoli at home after conceding six in Salzburg.
If the Reds are anywhere near their best they'll win this by at least two and are 3-4 with Coral to do so.
Salah is 5-6 with Ladbrokes to net at any time while Sadio Mane is 10-11.
Salzburg's first two matches produced 15 goals with their 6-2 defeat of Genk followed by a thrilling 4-3 defeat at Anfield.
That remains their only loss this season and they're unbeaten in 19 Euro ties at home, including a 3-1 defeat of Napoli in the Europa League last March.
Can't see anything but goals when the Italians visit tonight and over 3.5 pays 11-10 at betfair.
Salzburg have netted 47 in 11 at home this season and Erling Haaland has 18 in 12.
The Austrians can match anyone on their home patch and to win they're 17-10 with betfair and for a Super Single I'm on Salzburg and over 2.5 goals at 12-5 with McBookie.
Haaland hit a hat-trick against Genk and was on target off the bench at Anfield. he is 11-10 at McBookie to score and 15-4 to break the deadlock.
Tonight's card looks tougher to call than last night's and there have been varying opinions about Ajax v Chelsea. For me it's a home win or draw at 4-5 with Marathonbet with both scoring.
Barcelona are beginning to get going with Antoine Griezmann fitting in and Lionel Messi back from injury. Slavia Prague have only lost to Borussia Dortmund this season so will put up a fight but Barca should pick up the points and at 1-2 they are fine on accas.
Reommended Bets
- Red Bull & over 2.5 goals
- Haaland to score
- Salah to score
- Liverpool -1
- Ajax draw no bet
- Barcelona
How are Liverpool facing a titanic battle???
I doubt Salzburg will qualify mr f,although they play some nice football they are far to wide open at the back to progress for me,they won’t win in Naples and i doubt they will win tonight, when Liverpool visit there in december Klopp will have a plan to nullify them that’s for sure.
If they win tonight I think they’ll do so – Napoli have already dropped points in Genk.
We will easily qualify Mr F, we will top the group with Napoli 2nd, we lost away to Napoli first game which is the hardest game in the group effectively, a win against Salzburg followed and back to back games against the worst team in the group and we are through with much to spare
I could understand the headline if there was only two games to go and we had 3 points or something,as the Carpenters once sung it’s only just begun haha
The heading is done without looking ahead. It’s true – Liverpool need to beat Genk tonight or they’ll be in trouble.
Salzburg, Napoli and Liverpool are currently involved in a three-way fight for 2 places whether you like it or not.
I believe Liverpool will win comfortably tonight and qualify with Salzburg.
I know mate, just the 2 games in with 3 points on the board with the hardest game done… Time for panic stations ??
I also think you’ll qualify but maybe your hardest game will be Salzburg away.
I reckon Klopp will prioritise the League this season,if Rodri’s hamstring is bad then City are well short in defence and midfield and Klopp could be looking to have the league sewn up by Christmas.
