British No.1 Andy Murray's confidence will be soaring ahead of the US Open if he can see off world No.1 Novak Djokovic in Cincinnati today.
Murray defeated home favourite Mardy Fish on Saturday to reach the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 final, Djokovic through after the first-set retiral of Czech Tomas Berdych.
Serbian Djokovic is in the midst of a phenomenal season – just one defeat in 57 matches – and is the 1-3 favourite (Betfred, Stan James, William Hill, Bet365, Skybet, Totesport, Victor Chandler, Boylesports and Paddy Power).
He leads world No.4 Murray (265-100, Sportingbet) 6-3 on their head-to-head, however, their only meeting in Cincinnati came in the 2008 final and the Scot won 7-6(4) 7-6(5).
Djokovic isn't invincible, even if his 2011 record suggests otherwise but this one is too close to call. Therefore three sets in the match (8-5, Victor Chandler) is the best bet on offer.
Murray to win 2-1 is 6-1 with Bet365 and Sportingbet, his opponent 16-5 with Sportingbet. A straight-sets win for either player (two sets) is 1-2 with Skybet, Victor Chandler and Boylesports.
Djokovic 2-0 is 10-11 with Bluesquare and 888sport, Murray by the same margin 9-2 (various).
Recommendation: Murray 2-1 (6-1 Bet365 and Sportingbet).
