MANCHESTER CITY have splashed out on Erling Haaland to land the Champions League but the Norwegian is being hotly tipped to break Premier League scoring records after his incredible start at the Etihad.
Having played without a recognised centre forward for almost two seasons, City have added another weapon to their arsenal with the signing of Europe’s deadliest striker.
Fans checking the Premier League's latest scores always see his name pop up when City are playing and pundits are predicting the 22-year-old will smash scoring records.
Premier League defences haven’t been able to handle him so far, with Haaland netting 17 times in his first 11 outings.
That haul has included three hat-tricks and it’s scary to think how many goals Haaland will grab if he stays fit.
So what landmarks are under threat from Manchester City’s master marksman?
MOST GOALS IN A PREMIER LEAGUE SEASON
Haaland is already halfway towards breaking this record, which is shared by Andy Cole and Alan Shearer. In his days at Newcastle, Cole netted 34 times in season 1993/94, a feat Shearer replicated for Blackburn just a year later.
MOST GOALS IN A PREMIER LEAGUE DEBUT SEASON
Kevin Phillips tore up the Premier League after winning promotion with Sunderland in 1999. The striker netted 30 times in the league but that record is under serious threat from Haaland.
MOST PREMIER LEAGUE GOALS IN A CALENDAR YEAR
Harry Kane looks set to lose his battle Haaland for the golden boot but the Spurs striker could keep hold of this record. He scored an incredible 37 Premier League goals across the whole of 2017 for Tottenham.
TOP PREMIER LEAGUE GOALSCORER
Haaland will have to stay at Manchester City long-term if he wants to surpass the scoring feats of former England captain Shearer. Between 1992 and 2006, Shearer scored an amazing 260 Premier League goals for Blackburn and Newcastle.
MOST PREMIER LEAGUE HAT-TRICKS
Sergio Aguero was Manchester City’s last arch predator and the Argentinian helped himself to 12 Premier League hat-tricks. With Haaland netting three trebles already, this record will be firmly in his sights.
