ST MIRREN and Aberdeen have hit the ground running after the winter break so their clash in Paisley tonight is an intriguing one.
The Buddies have won both their games since returning and avoided a cup banana skin with little fuss at Ayr on Saturday.
At the same time Aberdeen were easing past Edinburgh City at home, having impressed a few days earlier in a Pittodrie draw against Rangers.
St Mirren were crushed 4-1 up north when these sides last locked horns but it was Jim Goodwin’s men who came out on top in the last Paisley meeting.
That match was a 3-2 thriller so it bodes well for goals tonight, with BTTS priced 21/20 at McBookie.
Over 2.5 strikes is also 11/8 at William Hill and has a chance as it has landed in four of the last six meetings.
St Mirren have most corners in both their games with the Dons this term and that bet pays a decent 13/10 at BoyleSports.
There’s Championship action down south tonight and I’m going for a BTTS double in QPR v Swansea and Coventry v Stoke. That pays a best 255/100 at SBK.
The AFCON has thrown up a few shocks but I’d be surprised if Senegal or Morocco came a cropper today.
They face Cape Verde and Malawi respectively in the last 16, with a double on the favourites winning in 90 minutes paying 115/100 at McBookie.
