MRF2018 JablonecvRennes

Jablonec vs Rennes

UEFA Europa League. Kick-off: 8pm, Thursday 29th November.

This has been Jablonec's first foray into the Europa League group stage and the Czech side have far from disgraced themselves, even though they sit bottom of Group K.

If it hadn't been for two late goals in both their 2-1 defeats on the road, Jablonec would still be undefeated in the group.

It was Rennes who inflicted heartache on Match Day One, with an injury-time penalty from Hatem Ben Arfa sealing victory for the French.

Then Astana hit Jablonec with a late sucker punch in Kazakhstan, Yevgeny Postnikov nicking the points when he netted just two minutes from time.

They have been just as spirited at home, drawing 2-2 with Dynamo Kiev then 1-1 with Astana, but the failure to record a victory has left them staring at elimination.

The Czech side have gone five games without a home win in Europe while Rennes have lost their last five away games in the Europa League so plenty of punters will fancy the draw at 43/20 with 888 Sport.

But that result suits neither side as they both need a win to stand any chance of reaching the last 32, although the result in the other group game could knock Jablonec out anyway.  While Rennes can stay alive with a victory, Jablonec need to win and hope Dynamo lose against Astana.

Jablonec are 17/10 with 888 Sport to break their duck in the group while Rennes are 7/4 to claim their second win in the section.

Neither team has kept a clean sheet so far in the group and that makes both teams to score a good bet at 22/25 with 888 Sport.

I've a feeling the Czechs may just edge a tight game so it might be worth backing draw half-time/Jablonec full-time which is 21/4 at 888 Sport. You can also back them to win at least one half which is available at a decent 4/5 with 888 Sport.

Recommended bets

  • Both teams to score 22/25 (888 Sport)
  • Draw half-time/Jablonec full-time 21/4 (888 Sport)
  • Jablonec to win at least one half 4/5 (888 Sport)
