RUBBISH in T&T but better news for anyone on the Iceland match sponsored by Lord Lucan – the match DID go ahead and finished with six goals with the final score 4-2.
I posted a game last week that I was sweet as hell on but alas it disappeared into the Nordic Triangle never to be seen again…or so I thought – it’s back on the menu again tonight at a rescheduled time of 9pm.
There's always the chance of goals when it comes to the Scandinavian youth leagues.
Icelandic youth action here and although it’s not going to be everyone’s cup of tea, it has been one of the most consistent leagues for goals over recent years and some of the scorelines are simply eyewatering.
LEIKNIR/KB U19 v GRINDAVÍK/GG U19 (8pm)
These two played their most recent H2H just 10 weeks ago with the small matter of 11 match goals in an 8-3 home victory for Grindavik – not too shabby as recent goals-form goes and, although it’s unlikely we’ll see an exact repeat, there’s every chance of a healthy final score!
Both sides have had a fairly active start to their respective Youth campaigns and these are reflected in the most recent match goal totals over the last four months:
H: 6-5-7-4-4-5-5-11-4-8-9-5-5-3-7-5-10.
A: 6-3-6-4-0-2-2-1-11-9-4-12-3-3-8-6-5.
Like I said, these are some of the most consistently high scoring games in Europe and the fact that only three of the hosts' last 17 matches finished with fewer than five goals puts that into perspective.
The significant difference to other high-scoring leagues (and the reason I like it so much) is it’s rarely a quality gulf resulting in vast thumpings of 10-0, etc as seen in the Finnish Kolkolmen and similar leagues – instead what you find in the Icelandic Youth is scorelines of 5-4, 7-3, etc where BOTH teams are working for you to help amass that goals tally.
Recommended Bets
- Over 4.5 match goals (Evens, Paddy Power)
- Over 5.5 match goals (2-1, Paddy Power)
- Over 6.5 match goals (4-1, Paddy Power)
Will try to get a post up for this evening as a few games look good but limited time.
