JUST back from London via the world’s most overcrowded train – an early start meant I missed the 2nd half of my pick last night but no joy in Iceland.
A good 1-1 start after about 15 minutes gave way to no other goal action. Really disappointing stuff.
Onwards though and a Northern Premier game that features on the goals radar means a short trip up the coast to Scarbados.
Scarborough Athletic v North Ferriby United
Roughly defined I can split my footballing career into 2 halves: the Lancashire days and the Yorkshire days … alas I was never good enough to play at professional level but I did have a few trials in both counties.
This match features two of those sides I had trials with pitted against each other … nestled way up on the East Coast of Yorkshire you can almost smell the tang of the sea and the taste of vinegar in the air.
‘Scabby’ are rising back up the league and it’s great to see – I spent a few years living there and have fond memories – not only is is it the first place I ever caught crabs but I also watched the team play regularly at their then home The McCain Stadium.
Their upward thrust sees them meeting a Ferriby side on the opposite trajectory after a couple of seasons where the chips were certainly down and I can see it being another long season for the side from the banks of The Humber.
Goals aplenty in The Villagers recent games and with 5-3-5 across the last 3, there’s every chance that a Scarborough outfit who hit 3 last time out might exploit a seriously troubled Ferriby defence.
I fancy fish, chips and goals tonight.

Quick heads up for Wednesday as won’t have much chance to post – the real NILFs are back in action.
Derry v Cliftonwille
Will be looking out for the goal lines and expect a solid away win as Derry continue to struggle. Hust one of the last 6 H2Hs has finished with fewer than 5 goals but the bookies know it!
One to keep an eye on tomorrow – expect the GL to be set around 5.0, 5.5 for 1.9. If you can get evens for over 4.5 anywhere then well worth a go.
55 mins in, gone over 2.5 goals
Good stuff Richard – we got there in the end ?
