Hopefully, I can stick to my word and try and avoid Brian Hughes from now on.

It's all well and good having the horse to win a race, you need a reliable jockey on board, and Brian isn't that.

Brian is a two-time Champion Jockey, but I think he has been on the slide for a few years now, and yesterday cemented it.

Jockey bashing isn't something I want to promote, but he's just lazy in the saddle. With jump horses, you've got to fire them at fences and help make their mind up; he is just motionless in the saddle. That cost us, as the horse just didn't lift off for two fences.

Thankfully, Sean Bowen showed who is the best in the business and managed to land a four-timer on board Diamond Geezer, securing profit on the day.

Escapeandevade 9/4 (1pt) – Worcester 1.30

It's a tad risky going for Escapeandevade on his stable debut for Harry Derham, given he is the oldest horse in the race.

Switching to Harry's yard is definitely a positive, but at this age, you'd like to think he's prone to an improver. Despite that, I think the fact that he has dropped down the handicap gives him a solid chance with plenty of chasing experience.

I'd like the ground to be slightly softer, but they have watered it, so it should maintain at around good to soft ground.

Escapeandevade enjoyed a good campaign in 2024, winning three times over fences. He started winning off 118 and won off 128 when landing the hat-trick. Those wins came in Class 4 and 3 races, so we know he is more than capable.

Over the last 12 months, he has been running well and consistently, but bumping into a few who were ahead of the handicapper.

Harry's horses have started to get into top gear recently, with five winners from his last seven runners, which gives plenty of hope that this lad will be ready first time out.

Double – Heron In The Park (Worc 2.35) & King Ulanda (Worc 3.45) 3.5/1

Very rarely do you see me tip multiples on the main thread, but considering I liked the look of two shorties, why not?

I think we could have a very decent mare on our hands in this race in the shape of Heron In The Park.

We don't know a lot about her, but she is 2/2 from PTP and her sole bumper run earlier in the year. She has already shown she is versatile in terms of ground, having won on good and on soft.

She'll have to be ready first time out this season to win, as Getawhisky wasn't a slouch in bumper races last year, but I think Heron has plenty of class.

King Ulanda is aiming for a quickfire double after winning at Carlisle six days ago.

I've been bitten in the backside far too many times with horse doing a quick turnaround, but it's hard not to think that he should be winning this.

His mark is the same, and is actually 1lb lower due to Ben Smith claiming 7lbs this time around from the 6lbs last time out.

He made the occasional mistake, but was miles ahead of the handicapper. He recorded an RPR of 119, which is 15lbs higher than his current mark. If he's not worse for wear, he should take the world of stopping.
