IT'S not the highest quality of racing on Saturday with the Cheltenham Festival starting on Tuesday but there are still two that have caught my eye at Sandown.
2.25pm Sandown
The Imperial Cup is the race of the day and with most of the top horses heading for Cheltenham next week CALL ME LORD has a really strong chance to win this.
He has to give loads of weight to the rest of the field but that is because he is miles better than them and over a course that he loves I can't see him finishing out of the top 3.
3.35pm Sandown
This staying chase has a fair number of older exposed horses that we know plenty about but there are a couple of unexposed horses that are of interest.
Favorito Bucks for the Paul Nicholls yard would be of real interest on good ground but it looks like being soft and all of his good form is on a sound surface so I am passing him over.
The one that I fancy is COMMODORE who won nicely last time in his first chase since his French novice days when stepped up to 3 miles. He is likely to have more improvement to come and can win this one.
