IT WAS two winners from three selections for me last weekend and I’m looking to continue that nice form today with selections across the country.
3.20 Aintree
TOMMY SILVER has dropped to a very low handicap mark after a fairly tame return to action a fortnight ago but he needed his first run last season and travelled well before looking like he wasn’t at peak fitness and I think he could be very competitive here. Paul Nicholls has put Lorcan Williams on him today who is a good apprentice jockey taking another 5lb off his weight and this race is a good bit easier on paper than his last race. I fancy him to win this and get his chasing career back on track.
3.15 Doncaster
This is the last big flat handicap of the turf season in Britain so we have one last chance to take advantage of this season’s flat form. Ian Williams has two interesting contenders in Reshoun and Baydar and Buzz is an in form horse. We also have the favourite Royal Line who is full of potential. There are two that I think are great value though and I will be recommending a bet on both. The first is MY LORD AND MASTER who is a three year old with loads of potential for trainer William Haggas.
Danny Tudhope has been in scintillating form this week riding 4 winners on the card at Newcastle on Wednesday. The horse enjoys soft ground and the rain has come just at the right time. I fancy this one to go really close.
My second choice is one at a bigger price for trainer Marcus Tregoning. SEAFARER will be suited by today’s conditions and is fresher than most of these having only had three runs this season. He retains plenty of potential and the added blinkers today might be just what he needs to squeeze out a little extra improvement. He is worth a punt at bigger prices with extra places on offer.
3.35 Wincanton
PRESENT MAN loves it round here and won this race last year. I get the impression that this race will be his target again and he is only 2lb higher in the weights than he was when he won it last year. Although he is favourite in what looks a fairly competitive handicap he looks very much the most likely winner to me so the current price still looks to have a bit of value in it. I reckon Bryony Frost will have involved at the finish and he is the one I want to be backing.
