It didn't turn out to be an ideal day for me with the two Haggas horses I put up as selections.

Fine Art Dealer was bumped badly from both sides after leaving the stalls, which wasn't an ideal start.

He seemed very one-paced when Jason Hart got after him, and didn't get a completely clear passage, but wasn't good enough anyway.

York Tower drifted out to 20/1, which is always a huge negative on a horse's debut. In all fairness, he shaped better than his odds and finished second. Keep an eye out for him in the future.

Chaos Control 11/2 (1pt) – Market Rasen 2.51

There are many safer options for this race than my selection, Chaos Control, but he is on a decent handicap mark and has proven to run well at this track and level before.

He made a return to the track 19 days ago on the flat, which saw him put in a very poor performance, but that was his first run in 404 days.

With that recent run under his belt, you'd like to think he will be much fitter this time around. The fact that they went for a run on the flat and are now reverting to obstacles suggests that he is much fitter now, and we'll see a better version.

Chaos Control has won a similar race at this track off a 1lb lower mark last Summer, so we know that he is capable of winning races off 116. Running off a 1lb higher mark isn't enough to write him off.

Stuart Edmunds has been operating at a 40% strike rate in the last fortnight, so he has his horses in fine fettle and entered into the correct races.

I Am Rocco 3/1 (1pt) – Market Rasen 4.21

I have this race as a straight shootout between I Am Rocco and Independent Jimmy.

My reasoning for going with I Am Rocco is that he has been ultra consistent since moving to Tim Ellis' yard this summer. It's quite remarkable that he hasn't managed to win a race in his career so far.

The form of his defeats over the summer has been franked. The winners of the races have generally been at least 10lb ahead of the handicapper and have either won again since, or gone close off revised marks.

There is always a chance that Independent Jimmy is another one of the well-handicapped horses, but he got collared late on in his race last time out, losing to a 22/1 shot.

The others in the race don't really appeal too much, apart from Grain Trade, who is having his second chase start for a yard that do better with chasers.
