FRIDAY brings some decent racing particularly at Newmarket where there are some competitive handicaps.
4.50pm Newmarket
The race where I think there is a decent angle in is the 4.50pm where we find a short priced favourite in a 10 runner field. Man of Promise clearly has potential having won his only race this season but he only did so narrowly and the horse he beat hasn’t gone on to set the heather on fire. With a rating of 92 he will need to be decent to win this race and I think he is far too short in the market. My alternative is OWNEY MADDEN at an each way price. The horse has been dropped 2lb despite a reasonable performance last time at York and I think he’ll be able to capitalise, particularly if the overnight rain turns the ground a bit soft.
