THE racing from Newmarket and York this Saturday is very good quality.
Once again the emphasis is going to be on soft ground form with no sign of the weather letting up. I have four selections in total all of which are double figure prices so fingers crossed we can land one or two of them.
Have a listen to the Gambla Racing Podcast where we discuss my selections and the races more generally:

2.55pm Newmarket
I’m surprised to see WEMBLEY bigger than 10s for this. He has Moore on board and will have no issues with the ground. I think he is a rock solid each way choice with firms paying 4 places each way.
3.10pm York
I have two selections here in a wide open 6 furlong sprint. The first is the ever reliable MR LUPTON who has looked as good as ever recently and will have no issues with the conditions. There aren’t many standout progressive horses so a course and distance winner who is a class act and is in good form seems a very fair bet at double figures. The alternative is WISE COUNSEL who was a wee bit unlucky last time out in the Ayr Gold Cup and finished a respectable 8th. I think he has a bit more to come and could hit the frame here especially when Hills are paying 7 places each way. Take advantage.
3.35pm Newmarket
The Cambridgeshire is the highlight of the day and somewhat surprisingly there isn’t a standout amongst the young pretenders that looks very well handicapped. As a result the market is wide open. The one that I fancy is MONDAIN from the Mark Johnston yard. He looks like a horse who will love this stamina test and he should be ok with the soft surface.
