THE RACING on Saturday is decent quality and includes a nice card at Fairyhouse where I have my best bet of the weekend.

My selections for Saturday are as follows:
2.40pm Haydock
I'm surprised that CHECKITOUT isn't favourite for this race. He is a progressive horse who is top weight here for a reason, having won his last two races. He has gone up 6lb in the handicap for that win and I think he has more improvement to come so he looks a very fair bet at 9-1.
3.00pm Musselburgh
I think that JUSTANOTHERBOTTLE will be primed for this run in what is a good race without any outstanding candidates. Kevin Ryan doesn't have a sparkling record in April with the exception of his sprinters who usually start the season brightly and I think Justanotherbottle should go well at a decent price.
3.35pm Haydock
Ian Williams has made an eye-catching jockey booking for CARDANO in the shape of Hollie Doyle. Cardano has ran very well in his last two runs on the all weather and although his turf form doesn't look too good I think this step up in trip will be a plus for him. He is only a 5 year old so can expect some improvement over staying trips this season.
4.05pm Fairyhouse
As I mentioned on the podcast I couldn't believe that some bookies had opened up on Friday afternoon with ECLAIR DE BEAUFEU at 11-2. He should be the strong favourite in this race and the fact that you can get an each way price about him was incredible to me. At the time of writing 4-1 is the best price available but that is still fantastic value in my book. He looks by far the most likely winner having been eased 1lb for an excellent run at Cheltenham finishing a close up 4th where he should probably have finished 2nd. He is still about a stone well-in compared to his chase rating and on top of that gets the assistance of 7lb claimer Jordan Gainford who is great value for that weight allowance. I'll be surprised if Eclair doesn't win this race and absolutely stunned if he isn't in the top 4 or 5.
