LAST week brought us another winner with Double Shuffle obliging having been tipped at 8-1 and going off a well-backed 9-2.
This week the racing isn't top class but there is still plenty to keep us going and the Classic Chase at Warwick in particular promises to be good fun.
Have a listen to the Gambla Racing Podcast where we discuss my selections in detail:
2.25pm Warwick
In a very competitive race I think that LORD OF KERAK is the potential value. He is improving nicely and is very well thought of by Olly Murphy. He is entitled to finish closer to Adrimel than last time and is a much bigger price.
3.0opm Warwick
You need to look a bit deeper into the form of CAPTAIN CHAOS than his three runs this season to make a case for him. He has been poor recently but the blinkers go back on today which turn him into a different horse. He is back down to a fair handicap mark and with conditions to suit he should go very close.
3.35pm Warwick
I have two selections in this race which is a qualifier for the Pertemps Final at the Cheltenham Festival. The first selection is THE CAPTAINS INN who is a very healthy 33-1 at the time of writing. He was off for a over 600 days before his comeback run last time so he can be forgiven for fading in the closing stages. Ben Pauling is in fine form, particularly in handicaps, and The Captains Inn was very well thought of before his lengthy absence. I think he will have a big performance or two in him this season and I'm hoping it's in this race.
My second selection in the race is MR HARP who is a lightly raced improving horse who won well last time out. In his two runs before that he came up against the very well thought of Barbados Buck's who is one of the favourites for the Albert Barlett Novices Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival. I think Mr Harp will continue to improve and could go close in this off a low handicap mark.
Multiples
I'm recommending 3 x 2pt doubles and a 1pt treble (7pt total bet) on the following three horses:
1.15pm Warwick
SKY PIRATE won nicely for us last time out and the drop to 2 miles seems to have been the making of him. This is an easier race and he should be able to take it in his stride.
1.50pm Warwick
I am quite strong on NEXT DESTINATION who looked good on seasonal debut and should be able to account for his rivals here easily enough.
2.40pm Market Rasen
The money is starting to come now for ON THE BLIND SIDE who was 2-1 on Friday afternoon when we recorded the podcast. He remains a bet for me down to about 5-4. He ran very well last time out behind the well-regarded McFabulous and should be very hard to beat here.
Brilliant treble!
Cheers Earl!
Well done 👍 even picking 3 favs is nt easy in this game haha 😂
Tell me about it Daz 😂 Not often I go for the shorties but couldn’t resist today
Superb VOV I was eyeing up a decent stake Yankee with your 3 and Edwardstone but I was sure so thanks for tipping me onto it. 👍
Wee £2.50 on the 4 fold too 😉🐎
Great to hear Recoba and good shout with Edwardstone 😎😎😎
