IT'S rare to have a meeting at Cheltenham in December that’s run on good ground but that’s the situation we have today so this could well end up being a good day for pointers for the festival in March.
I have two picks at double figure odds that I like the look of today.
1.55pm Cheltenham
This is a fabulous handicap with lots of potential winners and I think favourite Rather Be is too short in the market. That gives us a chance to find one at better value and although I like the chances of Baron Alco for me the value bet is MR MEDIC.
He won very nicely at Ascot last time out over a similar distance and crucially his jumping was very slick and impressive. That will stand him in good stead today despite a rise in the weights and a step up in class. I think he can take this in his stride.
3.40pm Cheltenham
In the last race of the day Henry Daly saddles CHILLI FILLI who really impressed me last time out when winning at Ludlow and that looked like a big step up in her form.
I think she might be able to confirm that today and I’m surprised to see her price drift this morning. I can’t let her go unbacked at the current t prices and she looks a good each way prospect.
