I HAVE a stonking great hangover after yesterday’s festivities so I’ll keep this short and sweet.
In the Silver Cup at Ayr I think AL QAHWA (2.40) has a fantastic opportunity. The ground and distance are both ideal and he has the very useful Connor McGovern on his back who still has a claim of 3lb which makes the horse look really well handicapped today.
In the Gold Cup I fancy two to run well. The first is GET KNOTTED (3.50) who stays 7 furlongs and a mile so there is no issue with him staying this 6 furlongs on soft ground.
He also loves this type of ground and is a course and distance winner. Callum Rodriguez is in great form as is Michael Dods and I can see them staying on to win this as the others tire.
My second selection is SUMMERGHAND (3.50) for David O’Meara and Danny Tudhope. This consistent horse with form on soft ground should not be a 33-1 shot in my book and is worth a punt with the Scot riding so well at the moment.
