The main focus of today’s racing is at Ascot where the King George takes centre stage at and we will find out if the wonder mare Enable can keep up her astonishing winning record. I think she can and will do it but at odds on she doesn’t rank as a tempting bet for me.
I have two selections from other races at Ascot and elsewhere there is also some fascinating racing from York and Chester. As it happens all four of my tips run within 35 minutes of each other so there will be a burst of channel hopping to catch all four of the races.
2.25 Ascot
FLASHCARD had plenty of bad luck in running two starts back and probably ruined his chances last time out by pulling too hard in the early part of the race. If he can settle well today I expect him to reverse the form with Motakhayyel who has gone up 6lb and to beat Wings of Time his other main rival who also has had a hike in the weights.
2.35 Chester
This one is probably my top fancy of the day. CHYNNA had been running admirably at a higher level than this last season in listed and group races and achieved probably a slightly unfair handicap mark as a result. This season she has been competing in competitive handicaps and doing ok considering her lofty mark. The handicapper has finally relented though and she drops into a class 4 handicap today where she has the standout form for me. She has the plum draw in stall 1 and with Adam McNamara Esq actually holding an excellent record at this quirky Chester course she can make the most of the opportunity.
2.40 York
This is a fascinating race and whilst we cannot ignore the obvious chance that Flying Pursuit has now that the rain has come I think David O’Meara Esq holds a huge hand in the race with both Gulliver and TOMILY. The latter is my selection because he has bounced back to great form and just this morning they have taken off the 7lb claimer who was due to ride and put De Sousa on board. The horse has a stone in hand based on his old handicap mark from a year or so ago and I think he will run a huge race.
3.00 Ascot
My fourth and final selection is HEY JONESY who will be looking for his Moët moment in the Moët & Chandon International Stakes over 7 furlongs. He is down 3lb since his reasonable run in the Wokingham at Ascot and I think he will enjoy 7 furlongs and the little bit of cut in the ground. His price looks too big to me and with plenty of firms offering extra places we need to get involved I think.
Your the man vov flashcard with the flashy run. Well done VOV
Nice one vov ?
