Cairnzy signs off from the site with three selections on Saturday and huge thanks from all the team here at MFT
Before I go any further I would like to announce that due to personal reasons this will be my last regular post on the site. I’ve decided to step down from my position as a resident tipster.
I’ve agreed with MFT to still come on for the bigger ITV meetings maybe once a month but in regards to regular posts they will be no more.
I would like to thank everyone at MFT for the opportunity to be apart of this fantastic thread. A thread that I’ve followed for years. From the Admins to Rizzel and to everyone who’s supported me along the way thank you.
Today is another fantastic day of racing and as competitive as you would expect for a Saturday.
2:25 Newbury
This is a cracking race and I think the Gosden trained filly SHAARA can run a big race under Jim Crowley at pretty attractive odds.
She ran out a nice winner on debut at Yarmouth back in October and did so in pretty impressive fashion.
She completely missed the break that day by about 4 lengths and also met trouble in running. Even with all that on her plate she still flew home up the stands rail to win quite easily.
Whether she’s up to the task of giving it up to already proven high grade horses Wild Beauty and Jumbly is another question but I wouldn’t rule her out of the equation.
9/1 is a nice each way price into the race if you fancy taking on the two shorter priced favourite.
3:00 Newbury
Richard Fahey's now 3 year old, PERFECT POWER, had an absolute blinder of a season last year as a 2 year old with some really nice wins including a group 2 win in the Norfolk Stakes at Ascot, a group one win over in France and in my opinion his most impressive win was his last run at Newmarket where he came from absolutely nowhere to bolt down the outside to land the spoils.
If you can catch a replay of the race at Newmarket definitely check it out. It was my first time seeing it myself and I couldn’t quite believe he managed to win that race. This horse has a frightening turn of foot.
He’ll have to be on his A-game to get his head in front of Lusail and the Beckett trained Angel Bleu who both were very impressive last season when putting together a hat-trick of wins.
It’s probably not the sort of race you’d want to place your money on given the competitiveness of the race but given what’s on the line I couldn’t help but stick the Fahey runner up and I think Perfect Power has a cracking chance.
2:39 Musselburgh
This is a bit of risky one for multiple reasons hence why I’ve taken the horse to place instead of outright.
DAKOTA GOLD was far from his best last season and was pretty much inconsistent the entire way through. The inconsistency of his performances last season sees him return today off an explorable mark given he’s won off 3lb higher in the past.
He hasn’t got a very good record when returning off a break but Michael Dods has already had a couple win on their first run back this season so fingers crossed the sequence continues today…
He has a nice draw from stall 1. He’s a horse that likes to go forward and dictate the pace. If he breaks well against the rail and travels nicely into the race he could be hard to peg back over today's stiff 5 furlongs.
Thanks again to everybody for their support and I’m sure I’ll catch you on here soon enough during one of the big ITV meetings.
Good luck 🙏

Also interesting that Christophe soumillon cones over to ride in the first 3 races, one of them being your pick perfect power.
This guy has been banging in winners for fun recently, he rides 2 of Fahey’s horses, don’t know the connection here between fahey and soumillon but it’s a positive for me.
Soumillon rode this in his last 2 wins at deauville and Newmarket so you can bet he is here specifically to ride perfect power 🏇
Definitely Elvis,
Christopher has taken over the reigns of this horse since riding him to victory in Deauville. Hanagan rode him previously to Christopher.
There’s no doubt this is his main ride of the day and as you said probably the main reason he’s in the UK in the first place.
Good luck
Couple of picks either side of the football.
5:54 Carlisle – Wheelbahri
7:45 Nottingham – Crush and Run
That’s it. Saturday is The Devil.
Grrr 2:54 Carlisle FFS
Good luck Cairnzy for today and the future. Top Bloke 👏
Cheers Rizz,
I’ll catch you on here at next big meeting and of course I’ll stick in contact. For the meantime good luck! I’ll be keeping an eye out 🙏👀

Won nice didn’t it, had a bit of 7-4 myself, nice bit of steering by Mr soumillon.
Fahey got a good un there, hopefully soumillon keeps the drive in future…
Good pick and best wishes moving forward bud 👍
