THIS WEEKEND brings some fantastic racing on both sides of the Irish Sea in a bonanza of jumps racing battles.

Have a listen to the Gambla Racing Podcast where Selectabet and I discuss Saturday's live ITV races and I also try to pick out a few winners at the Dublin Racing Festival which takes place at Leopardstown on Saturday and Sunday.

You can listen to the podcast here:

My tips for the weekend are:

1.50pm Sandown

No single bet advised in this race but I'm putting CALL ME LORD (general 4-6) into some win multiple bets (see below).

2.05pm Musselburgh

Three of the top four in the market appeal including Ashington and Miranda but my preference is for SIR CHAUVELIN who still has a bit of improvement to come over hurdles and won nicely over course and distance last time out.  That was a decent race and I think he can follow up again in this.

2.25pm Sandown

As long as LAURINA is healthy (she bled from the nose in her last race) she should win this one easily.  She is miles ahead of these in terms of ability.

2.45pm Wetherby

The one that I like in this is BOLDMERE who has impressed me with his last two wins and will enjoy jumping left-handed here at Wetherby and has no issues with the ground.

3.00pm Sandown

I have two in this at decent prices.  The first is GO WHATEVER who is an improving hurdler without too many miles on the clock.  He is a course and distance winner and doesn't have much weight to carry which will be an advantage in these testing conditions.

Another one who should enjoy the tough conditions is BROUGHTONS ADMIRAL who won nicely at Hereford last time out on heavy ground.  There's no way he should be 33-1 based on that performance.

3.15pm Musselburgh

I'm taking a punt on former Cheltenham winner BLOW BY BLOW who has gone backwards rapidly in the last year or so but I'm hoping that recent runs over hurdles might have sparked him back into life.  Having dropped over 20lb in the handicap he doesn't need to return to his best form to be competitive here and at 40-1 it's easy to have a small each way bet.  At the age of 9 it's too early to give up on him just yet.

3.35 Sandown

I really like the chances of CLASSIC BEN here who won the race last year and has now dropped down in the handicap to a similar mark.  I can see him going close.

Leopardstown Saturday

1.25pm MIN – general 11-4

2.00pm NOTEBOOK – general 15-8

3.10pm SHARJAH – general 6-4

Leopardstown Sunday

3.00pm FAUGHEEN – general 13-8

My betting strategy for these four selections from Leopardstown and Call Me Lord (1.50pm Sandown) is to perm them into multiple win bets. From those 5 selections I will have:

  • 10 trebles at 1pt per treble
  • 5 fourfolds at 0.5pt per fourfold
  • 1pt fivefold
