A couple of disappointing efforts from the first two horses, less about Mutasaabeq, and you could say the same for Gaassee but he was needing to make a gap to Class 1 level and he wasn't capable of doing so. Top Secret ran a belter of a race to finish second and placing at odds of 16/1, which returned a decent level of profit but we were still down on the day overall.
Naas 2:45 – Ziggy's Dream 2/1 (2pt Win Paddy/Whill)
The ground at Naas looks to be good and isn't expecting much rain, which is a concern for Ziggy's Dream as her runs have come on soft ground, but the fact Alice Haynes sends her across the pond to Ireland suggests they are expecting a big performance and I can see why based on her form.
She was impressive on debut and equally as impressive on her second run at Chester where she had a wide draw and did extremely well to finish as runner-up from that draw. She was stuck on the inside turning for home and when the gaps came she ran on very strongly, but the leader who had led all race had already a decent advantage, but the level of how much ground she bridged showed the ability she has.
It's hard to quantify that level of form compared to the Irish horses but with Alice Haynes' record when sending horses over to Ireland it's hard not to trust her judgement as he is 2/3 and the other horse was in the places.
Naas 3:45 – The Antarctic 2/1 (2pt Bet365)
I tipped up The Antarctic last time out on seasonal reappearance and I was expecting much better, as he was well below par. Either he's not progressed from 2 to 3 or he desperately needed that run, and I think it was the latter.
We've seen on many occasions, especially in recent years where Aidan's horses have needed their first run of the season and I think that run from The Antarctic screamed that as it was far too bad to be true. He was on the borderline of being a top-level sprinter at Group 1 level as a 2yo, being behind some very smart juveniles like Blackbeard and a couple of others, so to see him run to an RPR of 93 when being rated 113 was disappointing to say the least.
He is a full brother to Bataash, so you'd expect him to progress with age like he did and he definitely has the physical frame to do that. He is a big horse, built for sprinting and I think a return to a sounder surface will see him in a better light. He won't be great odds due to his 2yo form and being trained by the master, but I think he is one to keep on side with.

*Coco at Gulfstreaam was 8/1 not 5/1 and an Ew play or Top 3 place 11/10. Heavily drifted now with most anyway. 🤔
And Nap Race 6 Santa Anita is 11/8 top 3 finish at Paddy Power 2-5. Reverse Forecast. 👍
