EPSOM trainer Adam West has already made one successful raid on Hamilton this season and he has prospects of a double on Sunday with TATTENHAMS (5.10) and COULDN’T COULD SHE (4.10).
Tattenhams cruised through her race when whipping hot favourite Tigerten over course and distance in mid-August and a double is on the cards off a 7lb higher rating. She has since disappointed on the Fibresand at Southwell but the return to turf is a big plus.
Dual course winner Millie The Minx had Ritchie Star more than two lengths adrift last month and a 6lb adjustment brings them very close together. Recent Perth scorer Pammi could also be in the mix.
Couldn’t Could She was always travelling strongly at Windsor before picking off in-form trailblazer Lockdown Dream. Bringitonboris is out again quickly under a penalty for his Ayr success a couple of days ago, while Ayr Poet is attempting to bounce back from a below-par effort last Thursday.
Retained jockey Silvestre De Sousa heads north to partner LIBERTY POWER (4.40). Tim Easterby has given the King Power Racing-owned colt three runs, and a tongue-tie is fitted for Liberty Power’s handicap debut off an appealing mark. It would be no surprise to see the money coming for him.
Reaver looked a bit unlucky when stopped in his run over a furlong out before chasing home Ayr Poet here last time.
VICEREGENT (5.40) has been running the track very well and handled deep ground when taking the measure of Araka Li and Granite City Doc here almost three weeks ago. Richard Fahey’s three-year-old seems a pretty dogged stayer and may have the race set up for him by front-runner Lady Scatterley, pulled out of an engagement at Ayr last week to wait for this event.
It’s a good race to finish an interesting punting card.
