Alan Thomson was nap happy again yesterday and has a brace of bets at Lingfield on Friday
ROYAUME UNI (1.40) landed a Jumpers' Bumper over course and distance last month and can make a successful transition to handicap company at Lingfield.
Gary Moore's gelding strolled home by more than six lengths and this son of Galileo clearly adapted well to the faster Polytrack surface after struggling on heavy ground over hurdles. Ryan Moore gets the leg up for his dad.
ROGUE TIDE (12.40) pipped Lottie Marie over course and distance in January and the runner-up defied a 3lb rise at Wolverhampton earlier this week. Thrill Seeker has been knocking at the door and is probably the one to beat.
It's six weeks until the greatest show on turf; The Cheltenham Festival. Voice of Value has taken a look at the four Champion Races across two posts and they're well worth a read if you fancy an ante-post punt.

Wise glory 1-55 musselburgh Scottish triumph hurdle on Sunday.
Paul nicholls got this off Simon crisford on the flat, was ok, not outstanding.
Not jumped in public but apparently he has been schooling well. (Heard that before ?).
No odds available yet but is entered in the triumph hurdle at Cheltenham and is 33-1.
If he goes well on Sunday this will naturally drop significantly.
If it’s an each way price might be worth a couple of quid ew.
You ll never win if you never take a chance thanks for the heads up i will be all over it for sure !
morning all
just looked quickly through the cards today.
numbers 3 and 6 are in the top 3/4/5 spots in lots of races today.
just thought i would mention it,just in case.
will see later.
me and my numbers haha
good luck today people
Even dundalk later has 3.6.2.12.combo’s everywhere !!!!!!
Get it while it’s hot Spurs !!
very good dazzman ha ha
I’ve been concentrating solely this week on the Dublin Racing Festival which starts tomorrow.
Some really top class racing over the 2 days, but one thing to note is, it doesn’t produce many winners at Cheltenham. In fact in the last 2 years only 3 horses that won at the DRF also won at Cheltenham, (Honeysuckle last year) and (Envoi Allen and Klassical Dream) in 2019, so if you’ve had a few AP bets like me, and they don’t win, all is not lost.
H”caps are tricky at the best of times but this weekend it will be particularly tough as some will just want a run out to protect their mark for Cheltenham and for others its their prime target. Charles Byrnes has won the Ladbroke for the past 3 years so understandably has the current fav in there this year.
I will put my selections up over the course of today as I’ll be busy tomorrow morning and won’t have time.
BOL
The first race is a real cracker in prospect. I have backed current fav Gaillard Du Mensil for the Ballymore, but I’m not sure he will win tomorrow and I certainly wouldn’t be taking 2s about him doing so.
The past 3 winners of this race all went on to contest the Albert Bartlett and I think its a better prep race for that rather than the Ballymore. Its run over 2m 6f and the ground will be testing.
There are so many with chances, Statler is an out and out stayer and will want every yard of this trip. Mouse Morris yard is coming good just at the right time and had 2 big winners in the past couple of weeks so Gentlemansgame has to go on the shortlist along with others like Ashdale Bob (providing he’s recovered from his fall lto) Holymacapony is surely better than its last run (previously beat GDM) but the one I’m going to side with falls a bit into the unknown category.
Cape Gentleman has only had the 1 run over hurdles, but was hugely impressive and was eased down at the end of the race.
Previous to that he hacked up on the flat in the Irish Cesarewitch and is now rated 92 on the flat. This trip should be ideal for him based on what he’s shown so far. The bookies aren’t giving too much away with him but at 13/2 he looks a decent ew bet to start the day off.
Afternon All Well done yesterdays winners .

Oh dear ??
Jessie mac 2.00 well done all winners yesterday
I won’t go on about the 1.35. Barring a fall CPS wins.
2.10 The Irish Arkle
Energumene heads the market and is 2nd fav for the Cheltenham equivalent but he’s yet to run in a graded race and as good as he’s looked, he surely has some questions to answer.
Unexpected was very impressive on his only start and could be anything.
Captain Guinness is well held by the fav on they’re last run, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he got a bit closer this time.
There are quite a few in the race that like to be up with the pace and it could be a case where they take each other on so much that something out the back can pick them off from the last fence, which is what happened when Felix Desjy and Darver Star went at it over Christmas and Franco De Port picked them off and in the end won easily.
FDP is available at 10/1 and I think that’s worth a small ew play
See the. 333333’s have arrived!!!!
The 2.45 is the first of the h’caps and is a real headscratcher.
The Shunter looks well handicapped but his form looks better over hurdles although he did beat Enjoi Dallen who won his next 2 races but that was level weights.
I’ve had a small ew on Port Stanley at 12/1 with 6 places with pp.
He was beaten by Aramax lto but has a 7lb pull in the weights for 2 1/4L and cheekpieces are added to get his mind on it a bit more.
When you consider Aramax is 13/2, the 12s looks a bit of value.
The feature race on Day 1 is the Irish Champion Hurdle and Honeysuckle heads the market having won the race last year.
I do think this years renewal is stronger and she will need to be at her best to win.
Having said that, the rest of the field all have questions to answer.
Shariah won well over C&D at Christmas but has run twice at this festival in the past and performed really poorly including this race last year when sent off 2/1 2nd fav but ended up a well beaten 6th.
I backed Saint Roi last sept for the CH and at one stage was as low as 6s but he’s failed to deliver since and big improvement is required if he’s to be competitive tomorrow.
Abacadabras also has to prove he’s better than his last run. Saldier has some excellent form from the past and is lightly raced, but again needs to show a lot more than he did over Christmas.
One horse that never seems to run a bad race is Petit Mouchoir and will tank along out in front. It would be no surprise to see him in the first 3 but I cant see him winning it.
I’m being greedy but I wouldn’t mind if Honeysuckle finally lost her unbeaten record as I really hope she goes for the Mares at Cheltenham otherwise a lot of my AP multiples are up in smoke, but I think she will get the job done.
3.50…The 2nd of the h’caps and i won’t be having a bet in this race but will be keeping a close eye on Blue Sari, having his first run since this meeting last year.
Should he put in a decent performance, 6th or 7th will do,, he will be my horse for the County Hurdle.
Currently 25/1 and off a mark of 140, based on his earlier form could run them ragged at Cheltenham
4.25
A top class Bumper to end the day.
Kilcruit is my bumper horse for Cheltenham so I’m hoping he puts in a good show tomorrow.
Its a very strong field though, so will just watch with interest
BOL
Great informative write ups DC.
Biggest issue here is some horses won’t be flogged coming just a month before Cheltenham.
Another spanner in the works.
It’s such a good meet I’m just happy using it as a watching brief with next month in mind.
Probably have a couple of bets though for interest.
Good luck DC
Cheers Elvis
Yes not a meeting to throw big money on anything.
It will be a few small win and ew bets for interest.
