Purple Ribbon was disappointing to say the least, she was travelling okay until the pace quickened. She was then taken a little too wide in my opinion and found nothing when push came to shove.
The eventual winner looks an exciting prospect for connections and took the hike in the weights like it was nothing.
Rizz returns from his break tomorrow evening with his racing tips for Monday so Sunday's tips will be my last. I'll still jump on occasionally as I was when I feel like something worth putting up.
Its been an up and down 3 weeks with the highlight of my time in the hot seat probably coming with iwilldoit who won at 12/1.
This week has been a bit of a disaster compared to the previous two weeks but racing has been pretty dire with cancellations and I've been stuck with having to pick the bones out of low-graded stuff on the AW.
Massive thanks to Rizz, the guys at MFT and of course the guys in the comments who put their continued faith in me to come on and take the hot seat when needed. I always enjoy coming on and being apart of it all.
The flat on the AW hasn't been kind to me for roughly 4 or 5 days now but I'll give it another roll of the dice.
Rosa Del Rio 11/8 – 1:45 Newcastle
The only runner that caught my eye on the AW was Rosa Del Rio for trainer S&E Crisford, ridden by jockey Harry Burns.
Rosa Del Rio makes a switch to handicapping of what I think is a lenient mark of only 67.
She's only been raced 3 times and although unsuccessful on each of those 3 runs in both novice and maiden company I have seen enough on each of those runs to suggest she can improve significantly and win a race of this nature.
Race fitness won't be an issue as Rosa Del Rio returned at Chelmsford a week ago to finish fifth over 1m2 which is the same trip she'll run over today which I think benefits her more than the 1m she ran over on her previous 2 outings.
Twinjets 12-30 lingfield 11-4
Christopher wood 1-00 lingfield 9-4
Idalko bihoue 1-30 lingfield 11-8
Two for gold 2-00 lingfield 3-1
Won this last year and all 10 wins been around this time of year.
Goshen 3-30 lingfield 5-2.
Would have won this last year but veered off to the right.
Cheekpiece on today to try and correct this.
Quirky horse this, could win by 10 lengths or run like a pig, you just never know with Goshen.
Inspection at 8am Sunday so that probably means it’s off anyway ☹️

Think chacon poor soi has ran one bad race too many, 6 runs in 13 months with 1 win.
Bit of a hometown bully this horse has been,
Farmed comfortable races at home on Ireland earlier in his career, going off odds on most times, seems to throw in the towel when asked a question, or is he just not top drawer ??
3 runs outside Ireland, 3 losses.
Love to hear other opinions on this horse, very good to a point but won be remembered in 20 years time for anything particular for me ??
Money Spinner for connections in his earlier days for me Elvis.
If you look back at his career he’s been sent of odds on for most of wins in Ireland.
Disappointing when asked the question when sent to the UK.
Last 3 rides outside of Ireland read –
UR at Cheltenham last year, last of 5 at Sandown when sent of at 8/13 and turned over again at 8/13 at Cheltenham in 2021.
CV looks better to the eye but when you go into depth it’s not all its made out to be.
I agree cairnzy
His first 2 defeats made my mind up cairnzy, didn’t find much towards the end of those races when asked to pull out a little extra, it’s that extra that separates good horses from great horses.
Tiger roll Is my favourite horse in my lifetime, he produced that extra needed from 2 miles to 4.5 miles at home and in the UK.
Even down to his last run at Cheltenham, he left it all on the track, I just don’t think chacun does that.
Sounds like a bit of a rant as I’m bored doesn’t it 😃
CPS is ood horse over 2m on firm he’s had few cracking wins as he’s got speed but always strategically placed and a win or good run usually followed up with a bad one!
Today but…he’s 11 years old now so I couldn’t understand anyone backing him today especially at that distance.
