MULTELLIE (4.10) is interesting in the 1m 4f Veterans’ Handicap at Hamilton Park.

Tim Easterby’s gelding jumped out and made all in this race last year, strolling home by five lengths on soft ground. He races off a 1lb lower mark and conditions are very similar, so a big run is anticipated on the back of Multellie’s most recent fifth to Elysian Flame in the Lanark Silver Bell over course and distance last month.

Course specialist Carbon Dating, Donnachies Girl and Stonific all handle plenty of cut underfoot but the weather may have gone against likely favourite Black Kalanisi, an excellent second to subsequent scorer Shamad at York.

DUTCH COED (5.50) must go close in the concluding apprentices’ handicap. He has gradually climbed the ratings on the back of four victories this season, including over course and distance in July. The handicapper may have nailed him but Nigel Tinkler has wisely recruited 5lb claimer Aiden Blakemore to make Dutch Coed competitive.

Jim Goldie has found the perfect race for Remmy D, a nose superior to Star of Valour here last time. They clash again but Goldie’s stable apprentice Corey Madden can claim 10lb under the conditions of the race. Pioneering scored by a wide margin on heavy ground at Musselburgh last month and is another danger.

GLASVEGAS (2.00) couldn’t quicken with the principals in the valuable sales race at Doncaster last week but the track was riding slick which didn’t help. Keith Dalgleish’s juvenile should be more comfortable back on this slower surface having finished third in the Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot (soft). Lampang looked pretty smart at Carlisle and was pulled out of a better contest at Doncaster last week because of the fast ground. This should be a good spectacle.

KINGSON (5.15) is beginning to appear attractively handicapped and Fahey’s gelding need only reproduce the form of his third to Moll Davis and Proton at Doncaster last month to see off chief rival Mecca’s Gift and penalised Ayr winner My Ukelele.
