Saturday was a frustrating day, to say the least with one winner and close second with Give It Some Teddy. Some questionable rides on Oscula and Divine Magic, with Island Brave placing in a dead heat for fourth at odds of 16/1.

Sunday has some good races in France and some very competitive races at Haydock, with the rest of the races looking fairly poor, so I've opted for one selection in the last at Haydock.
Charles Byrnes is one of the best at landing gambles in the business, so it's strange and very noticeable that he sends one over in the shape of Run For Oscar. Despite his runner and some other good horses in this race, I think an EW bet on Richard Fahey's runner THE PREDICTOR is worth a shot.
Running in this race off joint bottom weight of 8st 2lbs makes him of real interest in this race considering his first attempt over this trip last time out seems fairly good form. The winner, Mostly Cloudy has won again since in a Class 3 at Ascot, which meant he racked up the five-timer. He is now 13 ratings higher than when they met, where he only managed to beat The Predictor by a head. With that being his only start over today's trip, there is definitely more to come from the son of Divine Prophet.
Another positive is that he is a 3yo, and that is an angle I like to look for in a race of this nature as they are far from reaching their maximum potential and they gain tonnes of weight from the weight-for-age allowances and are often unexposed compared to their elders.

Silver Legend makes 2yo debut for William Haggis – out of an unraced dam who was a half sister to eight individual winners four of which achieved a career high RPR of 107-111-118-119 then there is William Haggis record with 2yo at Haydock in maidens 8/23 wins 13/23 placed and 4/12 with debutants and 7/12 placed – Silver Legend will I have no doubt be fit and ready for debut and with four places available with Bet 365 has to be respected

Michael Bells only runner today is highley fancied to deliver today. I was at Fitzroy House a few days before his win at Epsom and he looked in fine fettle on the gallops. His recent gelding operation has really helped. We didn’t actually expect him to win at Epsom but we knew he’d get close to the places minimum. He will come on for that run and this opposition is there for the taking . Money is already down but the bigger money will be after we see him loading up, so I’d recommend just keeping an eye out as we won’t him relaxed as possible.
I’ll be back to posting the odd selection now and again.
