The sole selection of yesterday was given a weird ride, which is becoming a frequent occurrence of the flat season so far. It really does baffle me what goes through some of the jockey's heads during the races, but thankfully it wasn't a huge loss as that was the only runner on the day as the other horse was a NR again. Saturday looks tough, and I've kept it to just four runners coming across jumps and the flat. Good luck.

I'm a big fan of AN TAILLIUR and I've said in a couple threads where he has been a tip, he is a owners and trainers dream. He has tonnes of ability and heart, but only does what is required of him so the handicapper never really gets the grips of him as he only goes up a few lbs at a time. Hopefully he hasn't caught up to him yet with his recent 5lb rise from winning at Haydock in looks fairly strong form. A mark of 134 still looks workable in my opinion and even though this track suits nippy and faster types, the long run in will suit him as he seems to have stamina for days, and horses can be pegged back when running for home, so the fact he stays so well will put him in good stead for this.

CLARENDON HOUSE was tipped up on the thread around two weeks ago when running at Longchamp in a Group 3. Things didn't go right that day and I think he is worth another chance now he's back on English soil. He missed the break, which was a disaster from stall 1 as he got swamped and had very little room if and when the gaps came. The gaps didn't come and he was a little keen, so it was a surprise to see him finish 4th/8 and run as well as he did that day, recording an RPR of 105. I think he'll prefer this track than Longchamp and if he breaks well like he usually does, then he should be in a good position throughout this race. Robert Cowell does very well with this kind of horse, and sprinters is what he is known for. He is still a 4yo will bags of ability and more improvement to come and I think he is a solid candidate in this lineup.

I was close to tipping up FORZA ORTA a couple of weeks ago at the York meeting but decided not to, so it was good to see him run a nice race but not win, as I would've been gutted not to get on him that day. However, I am on his side today and he surely has a huge chance in this race off the bottom weight again. He was only beaten by a Haggas improver last time, and there is a chance of that happening again today but whatever beats him will have to be a fair amount ahead of their mark as he is deemed to be very well handicapped in my opinion. He is currently sitting at second favourite and has a great chance of landing this decent race.

I'm going to take a chance on DUKE OF VERONA and the chance he could have more to offer this year as a 4yo. He made nice progression through his 3yo season and his win at the back end of his season now looks good with the form being boosted by a fair few who finished in behind that day. His returning run at Ascot was better than his finishing position of 8th suggests, where he was blocked off on the rail when he tried to mount a challenge for finishing in the places. With that recent run under his belt he will have stripped fitter and this race is a drop in class so even though he is carrying top weight, he should find this an easier assignment.

Had a pretty good day in the end yesterday more so in the evening trusting my own instincts and jumping on one of Elvisis . I lumped 3 times on 3 different slips on d man taking over £300 then that money for nothing breeds confidence to really go with your gut picks 🤪😂 kicking myself not backing eligible but fell for believing the “ market “ haha . Best one was rousing encore . The short price scares everyone away and I could smell a rat so did £20 on the nose at 6/1 then sociologist you got more to gain than to lose and we see time and time now odds on don’t mean A thing . I think they should have live microphones during the race as sometimes I swear they are chatting on how the fix is going doing down when they slow down a bit and are in a line and you see heads moving like they are having a conversation .i did get sucker punch with red azalea thinking it been backed a few times before with high expectations and lost a few people money it will come good this time around . But out of all the racing I fall flat on my face with the Irish but I did have snapius and say good bye only because I thought if I were to fix it what would I choose with out giving to much money away 🤪
