It was nice to see the double land on Wednesday. I'm not a fan of multiple bets but when there was very little I liked, I thought I'd combine two horses I liked but were both at short odds to make it worthwhile. Thankfully, both of them won with Galvin being the more emphatic winner of the two.

For some reason, I'm not sure why we get far too many races in the jumps season where the fields are ridiculously small. It's irritating to see considering trainers moan about money on offer etc, but you have a perfectly normal race like this which is a handicap and you could potentially pick up a few grand for finishing in the places.
Despite the small rant, I will be having a bet in this two-runner race, with GERONIMO getting my vote. It's a help that he is the bigger-priced of the two in the race, but I think he is the most likely winner.
Tommy's Oscar had an incredible season last year over hurdles, progressing at a rate of knots and winning some big races before trying his arm in the Champion Hurdle where he was outclassed. He is a horse who has to be respected this season over fences as he is built to jump them, but on seasonal reappearance and a lack of experience, I think this is the time to catch him cold and potentially get him beat. Geronimo is no mug as you can probably tell with the string of 1's next to his name. He is a horse in form and a horse who arrives in this race with plenty of races under his belt and experience as a chaser, and for those two reasons, I make him a decent bet against the favourite.
With this being a two-runner race, chances are it will be messy. Geronimo does like to lead, so Brian Hughes should be able to get an easy time of things in front, and if I was him I'd be setting a good pace where it will put pressure on Tommy's Oscar which could create some errors in his jumping on chase debut.

This is not the strongest selection I've ever done, but at the prices, I can't help but think WYE AYE must have a chance off today's weight and rates as a good EW contender.
His run last time out which was his first run of the season was mixed with underwhelming and a good starting point for this year. He travelled well after being inconvenienced by the loose horse on a couple of occasions, but his efforts folded tamely and he finished 20+ lengths behind the winner. For me, I'm a glass-half-full person and I believe it was a decent start to this year. It would've blown away the cobwebs and stripped him fitter for today's race and it was over a shorter-than-ideal distance for him, which also gives the impression that they undercooked him for that race.
He is still a lightly raced 7yo who has progressed nicely over fences, winning 4/8, so there's still plenty more to come in my eyes.

Parikarma – 1515 Brighton – 6/4
This has to be the banker of the day!! Won with plenty in hand last time out over CD so the 5lb penalty should have no significant impact on the horse’s ability to win today particularly if looking at his previous form and connections confidence going into this.
The ground conditions will be fine and the fact that Silver Bubble is now a NR is another positive for Parikarma’s chances. Angel Roc will likely give it a good go but I’m ultra confident that the selection will win this and I have placed a decent size bet accordingly.
Good luck if you’re already on or follow but I really don’t think we’ll need it.
