TRUE ROMANCE (4.30) is an interesting runner in the 1m 5f Class 6 handicap at Musselburgh.
The gelding has shown precious little on the level but arrives here in great form over hurdles. True Romance hacked up at a big price at Southwell last month before finding Gordon Elliott’s Braid Blue too strong at Perth. The winner went in again at Ffos Las last week and True Romance races off a basement 51 mark for Graham Lee. Probable favourite Percy Prosecco was a disappointing sixth when sent off favourite at Doncaster but may be better suited by this shorter distance.
GABRIAL THE TIGER (3.00) is enjoying a rich spell of form and his attacking style of racing is well suited to Musselburgh’s tight home turn. He is up 4lb after making all at Chester but that isn’t necessarily prohibitive as he scored off a similar mark over course and distance last October. Sean Davis takes off 3lb.
Donnelly’s Rainbow finally snapped a long sequence of placed efforts by scoring at Ayr eight days ago and that should have boosted his confidence. Top weight Mujassam ran another solid race at Epsom last week and should be involved once again.
BOUDICA BAY (4.00) scored over course and distance in May and has a plum draw up the stands’ rail. Eric Alson’s filly wasn’t disgraced in sixth behind prolific winner Dapper Man at Haydock and this is a bit easier.
MOLLY MAI (2.00), a winner at Beverley in May, is sent north by Phil McBride to contest the modest Class 6 mile handicap. His filly wasn’t beaten far in fourth behind Primeiro Boy at Wolverhampton last time.
15:15 Wolves – WILD EDRIC 6/5 win 1pt
This horse won by 4 lengths over the same C&D LTO. He carries a penalty but half of that is negated by the jockey’s claim. Given he kicked away nicely and won by 4 lengths, without looking at a rival, I will not be abandoning.
15:30 Musselburgh – TOM TULLIVER 4/1 win 1pt
There are risks attached to this horse in terms of it being his handicap debut, it is hard to gauge whether his mark of 80 is appropriate. However, in his three races to date, many of the horses he has beat have come out and won since and not to repeat myself, but with the strategy we’ve adopted, he is a horse who is well worth chancing, the place market odds will be very short, but he shouldn’t be out of the top 3 if all things are well.
15:00 Musselburgh – HOW BIZARRE 11/1 0.25pts win and top 3 0.75pts
This is a much more wide open race and I will be taking a chance on HOW BIZARRE. Gabrial the Tiger is only 1lb up for a win last time but on older form, my selection should be able to turn around a 2l defeat around. We have a massive 15lbs pull in the weights and given we won LTO, we are in decent form. We also now have a claimer on board who actually puts us on a lower mark than the win and 12lbs below a C&D victory back in September, albeit under a different trainer. I will be parting with a small amount for win purposes and will cover the bet in the place market.
does anyone have an explanation as to why WILD EDRIC’s OR on sporting life is 2 lower despite him winning over CD lto?? yes he carries a penalty but i didn’t think that would alter his OR .. they are either wrong or I am dumb… he won a normal race last time not turf/AW rating either :S… forgot to mention he also drops in class for this race, looks like a good thing. havent looked at a single rival mind you
unlucky database thought how bizarre was going to get back up there
So sorry guys in my confusion I posted on the incorrect thread

Just the one jumps meeting today but not till this evening so back later for that more time to look.
Had a bet on the three O,Meara/Tudhope horses at Musselburgh today. All seem to have a chance in open races and the trainer jockey combo is in good form.

if WILD EDRICK was a good thing i think R kingscote would be riding it ,kingscote won on wild edrick twice ,but rides baby steps this time round he is the no 1 jockey for T dascombe also baby steps finished at least 4 0r 5 lengths ahead of wild edrick lto so im going with baby steps 7/1 hopefully one of us wins .
Good shout 13t2 looks decent value so well worth chancing. Totally get your jockey point too and Edric drifting and price boosted too but I bet with a strategy now where losing a point doesnt affect me so worth chancing BOL
Agree m but I think Eric is improving n Baby? Stick with Wild Eric with C&D form and after watching him lot,i’m on him at 11/10 but I’ll have a wee saver. Cheers lads! GL
lot to look at in this race when Wild Edric won over course and distance it had the perfect inside draw drawn one led all the way carryimg 9.2 today carrying 9.12 its drawn 9 and we are down to 10 runners. But this could be the reason for the jockeys and Jane Elliot is a 3lb claimer which trainer may think will make the difference.
When Kingscote last rode Baby Steps it finished stone last at Doncaster in May over 7 furlongs weakening around 2 furlongs out hence a drop in trip today.
No bet there for me but good luck whatever your on

Morning all, how ‘BIN YA’? Off to my local tack again this afternoon, always a good crowd this this time of year. 3.15, Black Country Handicap, great name for a race, supports the local community and my old stomping grounds.
Heard a few rumours for O. Murphy and R Kingscote to have a few winners between them. Both had doubles last years meet. So if you believe in omens, might be worth following. Both got good rides in the 3.15, so that’s where I will start.
Wild Eric won here over C@D last week 15/7, carrying 4lb extra and with a wide draw is not in his favour today. R Kingscote winning jockey on Wild Eric opts for Baby Steps, interesting that. However, I am backing Take Fright 7/2. Ran a good race here 9/7 over 7f, just 1l behind the winner Streets Poets[runs4.15] been raised only 1lb for that effort. A very good chance if coping with trip.
2.15 Wide open contest. Prissy Missy, Blitzle, Forced. Wait for betting on track.
2.45. Had a good bet on Xforce 11/4 to win by 2 lengths or more. Will have 2 good E/W bets on Dorchester Dom 25/1 and Hot Heels 18/1.
3.45. Another wide open contest, Kodiline 3/1 ‘Jolly’ cause of jockey booking. I am going for Sonnet Rose 7/1 proven winner over Polytrack/Fibresand. Placed twice over C@D last summer.
4.15 Engrossed 3/1 Failed by only short head in April over C@D, not seen since. Goes well fresh, will do for me BIG WEDGE on this.
4.45 Yet another wide open contest with 13 runners. SKYBET PP paying 4. Took 20’s on Joyful Dream 1 hour ago. Looking at either Canasta 13/2/Solfeggio 9/1 on track.
5.15 ‘Jolly’ 9/4 7 runs no wins 3 places bit of a concern. Genuine Approval 5/1 hacked up here 15/9 over C@D odds of 40/1 been raised 51b. Likes it around here, so could pop up again. But I am going for Yasir 12/1, loves this track. Last win in December over C@D off this mark, last 3 events been placed 3rd. Big run today at decent odds.
Be lucy enjoy. First pint is calling.

he was last but it was a better race than this one today ,he showed up well for most of that race only to fade in the last 2 furlongs, hopefully today is the day.but im just back from my local and everyone seems to be backing wild edrick.

RE your international picks you posted last night on the wrong thread. Unless the site is having issues i noticed your post late last night and you posted it AFTER a horse had won.
I do remember this happening in January you did the same a pick up AFTER the horse won.
I have no idea why you would do this.
Sorry your incorrect . I posted before 1st race last night that selection lost only the 5/1 selection won which was the last to run . I realised my mistake and posted it in the correct place on off time which still allowed people 5 mins to get on as the race was going late . Have never claimed a winner after the off . Was an honest mistake .
I beg to differ, know what i saw. I wouldn’t have payed any notice but i remember a similar situation in January, you were called out by more than one person about you posting after the event, but you failed to reply to any of them and just disapeered for a few days.
Incorrect. Thanks for the input though will try to make sure I post on the correct thread in future
You are wrong footiemad
great start AZZ
get the f–k in there baby
Well done marra 👍
well done theplug
Kings Ryde 6-10 southwell 11-4.
Henderson trained outsider of 3.
His best hurdle win came at this course and chased home the useful fidux on chase debut going down narrowly.
Hoping he makes the pace, jumps well again and hangs on.
well done today Azz .
cheers busstop
Plug well done .Kingscote got it right .Had to be noted him not riding Daccombes
gl
if Dascombe wanted Kingscote to ride it, he would of had to so it isn’t as if he turned his nose up at it and given we only lost by a head… and travelled the best, i think jane elliott just isn’t a good enough jockey, if you switched the jockeys round, i think edric wins but all good.
Database it wasn’t that Elliot is a bad jockey, Kingscote new he was on the better horse as I said he already finished 4 t 5 lengths ahead of him when they ran against each other , last week d Tudhope did the very same thing d o meara had a horse in the race which he was fav but Tudhope rode for another trainer and won

Southwell 8.40 evens at betway
Theatre Act from Skelton yard won here easily last week over 3m good when Harry was in saddle he’s up 7lb penalty but yard bring in young claimer William Marshall takes 8lbs off and is a 1lb better off
I was at Musselburgh today. Thanks to Alan’s 2 winners I surprisingly ended well up on an extremely trappy card. Poor card overall but great day and great weather.
