Dr Jane clearly isn't going to be the same caliber of horse as her full-brother, Mr Medic. She made an error at probably every fence she jumped, and it wasn't an encouraging start to her life over fences. Royaume Uni was an impressive winner, and won easily as expected. He was punted off the boards, being backed in from 7/4 – 4/7.
Exeter 2:05
The horse who appeals to me the most in this race, despite carrying top weight, is AN TAILLIUR. This improving 5yo trained by Jonjo O'Neill arrives to this race in tremendous form, recently racking up the four-timer, and doing it quite cosy style towards the end. He has been hit with a 5lb rise in the weights, but based on that last performance, there appears to be some squeak in revised mark.
Since going handicapping this lad has been a revelation for the Jonjo's. He finished 2nd on his handicap debut, which was over a trip which is definitely inadequate (2m), and then went on a roll and won four on bounce over 2m 4f and 2m 5f on his most recent start. Today he tackles another new trip, 2m 7f, but based on what we've seen from his so far, this trip could bring out more improvement. After his 3rd win, he was hit with a 13lb rise, and that made it a much harder task than what he's faced before, but he still travelled well, and he ran on strongly, which looked like this new trip will be right up his street. Not only was he carrying 13lb more, he has to combat a 124 day break, so that made the performance at Warwick all the more impressive, and he should hopefully come on again for that run.
This is going to be his toughest assignment to date, but the opposition doesn't frighten me. The main danger will come from either Gavrocheka or Khan, in my opinion. The former is a very hit and miss horse, she is on a mark where she can be competitive, as shown on her recent start, but she is not guaranteed to follow up on that good run with another good one. Khan used to be a very good performer on the flat when trained in Germany, but he hasn't exactly set the jumps game alight. He won his third hurdle race last time out, but I get the impression that this trip will be on the short side for him. He stayed on very well at Huntingdon last time out over 3m 1f, and it appeared a drop back in trip will probably test his speed too much. His trainer continues to be in good form, so out of the two I'd say he warrants the most respect.

Did anyone see the Paul merson gambling documentary? Just watched it on iplayer and its like looking in a mirror. A bit that really got to me was the person who had requested all the data that a bookie had on him. If what they showed in the program is true , its really scary. They knew everything about him from betting patterns, to really personal stuff like what he owed and to who, where he like to shop, what he browsed on line, just everything about him really. They even referred to him as a “win back”. Meaning he was someone who tried to win back his money, by placing other bets straight after losing.
So they can target him by offering strategically timed free bets and offers. I know ultimately its the player himself who has the ability to not place the bets, but it feels to me like we’re on a hiding to nothing with these mercenaries.
Anyway, most of you will already know I’ve had issues with gambling from previous posts, and I still do , but I am trying to deal with it. (AGAIN!).
Not looking to bring the mood down or anything, all the guys on here are great and very genuine with helping to beat the bookies , and I wish everyone every success with that for sure.
The documentary is definitely worth a watch though.
GL all.
Huge respect Edgeman
Takes courage to put a post up like this and I wish you all the best.
Didn’t see the documentary but will check it out.
There’s talk here that the Government will ban bookies offering FREE BETS. I really hope that happens.
Massive Respect to you Edgeman. I wish you nothing but the very best in life.
That is probably the most responsible and sobering post I’ve seen on this site for a while, well done for posting and for being man enough to talk about your personal issues with gambling.
1st battle with any addiction is realising you have a problem yourself and then being man enough to reach out to others for help.
I wish you good luck with whatever actions you are taking to rectify this issue edgeman ,👍
Eel pie island 3-50 Exeter 2-1.
Can’t call this a NAP as it’s Only Ralph Beckett’s 2nd NH runner in 5 years so could be anything in a field of newcomers but will he kicking myself if it wins so had a dabble, it’s closely related to a listed hurdle winner so should stay.
Nice work son 👍
Deauville -11.20….Life In Motion. 2/1(**** few nice types in here but he won by 5l on debut and is a daughter of Sea The Stars! Fabre and Barzalona combo does it for me)

Going to scrap short price Trixies it’ll be a straight treble or just singles as there getting to be a waste or $s! One I got up 2 Fridays back had a shortest price a 7/4 an for £3 it returned £68. Tonight it been £55 for a £10 bet it’s not worth it especially last few weeks leading to Breeders Cup the forms been tough!
Onwards…
