The past couple of days haven't been great and Saturday wasn't any different with two losers, but it wasn't a total disaster as Five Star Getaway returned some money when grabbing a place in the Becher Chase at Aintree.
Considering he didn't jump great I thought he ran a belter to grab a place. Stamina is clearly his thing and on the back of that, I think you'll see a similar profile to Christian Williams' horse who won some big prizes last year over 4m (Wing My Wings). He won the Scottish Grand National and the Eider Chase last year and I think it would be a shame if they didn't go for a similar route with this horse who does jump the normal fences better and looks to be screaming out for a trip.
Fairyhouse 12:55
It's Sunday and that means a selection in a Marathon race in Ireland. I've gone for a past selection for me, WALKING ON GLASS who finished in the places for us when running in the Munster National at the back end of October.
He was given a hold-up ride by the 7lb claimer, Aidan Kelly, and he made eye-catching late ground when running on to finish in the places. That race was over 3m and now they go up in trip to 3m 5f. It's unknown until they try it but I think this kind of distance could bring out further improvement. He was hardly disgraced last time at Limerick and the form looks solid, with the winner going on to win at Navan in a Grade B race worth 59k Euros to the winner.
I'm a big fan of backing unexposed horses in these kinds of races and horses who will be carrying low weights. Aidan Kelly retains the partnership with Walking On Glass so takes off the 7lbs, which means he is running off 10st 3lbs. You have Punitive who was a selection last week in that Navan race but he unseated his rider, it would pain me to see him win this, but on the back of that is has left a sour taste in my mouth.
Kelso 1:35
I am very confident about this selection, and I said that when this horse goes up in trip he will win races. GIT MAKER is my NAP of today, and though the last three days or so haven't been great, I'm confident that this lad will deliver the goods and get us a win.
He isn't great odds, but this is a four-runner race so I still believe there is value in his price which is currently just above EVS.
I was very pleased with his chase debut at Sandown when finishing behind Solo. That horse hasn't exactly franked the form too much when finishing 2nd the next time out, but I thought Git Maker looked tailor-made for fences and ran in the way a horse who would progress over further. Jamie Snowden is a shrewd trainer and whenever he sends his horses to Scotland or the North of England they have to be respected and that is probably why you can't get stupid odds on him.
I fully believe with a clear round of jumping he will take the world of beating.
Huntingdon 2:55
Now for my whacky selection of the day, which could be genius or just plain stupid, either way I'm going for it as my gut is telling me to do so.
Personally, I don't think this race is that great. You have some recognisable names from the jumps game including last years winner, First Flow. But as I delved into it, this race looks open for a shock and I think the only mare in the race could massively outrun her odds of 20/1, so PINK LEGEND is my selection.
If you look at her form from last year you have to say she is probably going to need to improve a few pounds to win this, but her odds suggest she has no chance, but if you had Elimay or Scarlet And Dove or even Zambella racing in this, they would be much shorter prices due to their profile. But, Pink Legend nearly won the Mares' Chase at Cheltenham last year and finished ahead of Scarlet And Dove and Zambella, and was only 0.5L behind Elimay. To me, that is decent form.
Venetia Williams is back in form and she is firing in winners left right and center. She is known for being able to get one ready first time out and this mares' record when fresh reads 6 (bumper), 6, 1, 1, 1, 1. She is clearly very good from a break and considering I have doubt over this race and the horses in it, I think she has a decent EW chance. She is also a C&D winner, which reads well.
Touching on the others:
Allmankind – was a decent juvenile hurdler a few years ago, form has fallen apart since, mark of 159 flatters him.
First Flow – If I wasn't backing Pink Legend I'd be on him. Won this 12 months ago, runs well when fresh and is a good hardy horse.
Mister Fisher – Has ability but often jumps like a snooker table. Won this 2 years ago, but his form is very in and out, so best watched.
Do Your Job – Lowest rated in this race, won nice at Ayr in a weak Grade 2 last season. Has plenty to find.
Millers Bank – Was tipped up for me at Carlisle where I think he should've won. Has a decent chance in this, one of the main players for sure.
Pic D'Orhy – Has the ability to do well over fences but his jumping can be sketchy in a competitive race.
Sorry this has gone up this early, but the prices on the horses are going quick so I thought I’d get it up ASAP so you have the best chance of getting some nice prices.
No shame In that rizz I normally post mine a few weeks before the off hahahaha
12:45 Huntington – hill finch 4/1
13:15 Huntington – kenzai warrior 13/2
Have to admit I’ve not been Edwardstone’s biggest fan but he certainly won me over yesterday. It was a very good performance.
I still think he needs to find more to win the CC but at least we have a race now to look forward to providing both get there.
As for Shishkin, NH says he’ll up him in trip now so will probably be aimed at the Ryainair. Might have a chance if Allaho doesn’t recover in time.
Onto today and a cracking card at fairyhouse where we finally get to see some proper match ups with 2 grade 1’s up for grabs.
There’s been a lot of rain here overnight so the ground will be on the softer side I would imagine so may not suit some of the runners today.
12.25 Lossiemouth 5/2
I’m not put off by PT choosing Zarak the Brave as Danny Mullins is a brilliant front running jockey (Flooring Porter) and that’s how this horse won his only start in France. Comes with a big reputation
12.55 The Dabbler 6/1 ew 4 places
2nd last year. Recent run over hurdles in prep for this race when finishing 3rd at 50/1 in a 22 runner race so clearly in good health.
1.25 path Doroux 10/1 ew (taken last night) 8/1 still available which is still a good ew price.
I just thought 10’s was big for him. He’s won both starts and the form has been boosted by horses that finished behind that have since won. Has a bit to find on a line through Hallibut to beat Marine Nationale (my horse for the Ballymore) but I think both Champ Kiely and MN need better ground than they’ll get today.
Not a race to put the mortgage on as anything could potentially win so just interest stakes
1.55 Mighty Potter 5/1
Was the highest rated of these over hurdles and beat TSL at leopardstown previously. Needs to improve his jumping buts he’s a tough horse and was very unlucky not to win the Royal Bond here last year.
2.30 Honeysuckle should win this but interesting she’s only a 1/2 shot. Should be at least 1/3
but you won’t get rich backing at those kind of prices.
In the bumper we have current fav for Cheltenham in Chapeau De Soleil. Not the easiest of starts up against Better Days Ahead but if he is to win will surely be a short price for the festival. Patrick Mullins stated that he was bought purely for the Cheltenham bumper which is a strong statement as its usually with a view to hurdling or chasing down the line.
BOL
Was tempted going for Klassical Dream in this as an EW bet.
Interesting they’ve gone for this race for Klassical. Though he stays 3m and has won Grade 1s over that trip, I still think he could be dangerous over today’s trip. He is a horse who goes well fresh and clearly does have the speed as he won the Supreme a few years ago.
It would be an EW bet to nothing if he places, I just think Honeysuckle is probably worth taking on based on her last years runs. She is a legend of the sport, and I’d love to see her jump a fence but I think they’ll retire her at the end of the season for breeding.
Yeah he will put it up to her alright but giving her 7lbs will always be difficult.
DC
Hopefully Mullins will win the bumper today and win well .the danger to him is Better days ahead i think .but with Willie after buying this horse privately for Ricci i think it’s a big tip in itself so fingers crossed he will win..i have him backed for the Cheltenham Bumper at 7/1 if he wins today that price will be gone, and when its gone its gone 🤣
Great shout with lossiemouth DC 🏇.
Cheers, had decent stake on top 2 at 11-8.
She’s a good un ……….
Cheers elvis
Think we just seen the Triumph winner there
Treble for the day, not the most exciting but odds of around 5s when placed ,
Honeysuckle and champ kiely fairyhouse

Clonguile Way 1.05 Kelso could be interesting being John McConnell’s only runner at the meeting and Sean Bowen’s only mount.

al is forgiven, GERRY HANNON back to being the best in the business hahahaha
another reason to avoid even money shots, pointless.
Barry o connel have a serious horse on his hands
Good call DC
Didn’t think he’d win today but still think he’ll avoid FV which is why I went Ballymore route
10s best price now for the Ballymore. I’m on at 25s
Ned tanner just gets home 7-2.
Just miller’s bank to go and it’s now footy time.
Well done winners and indeed all for your contributions.
It’s now 2 years since Mr fixit passed away and I hope we all keep this thread alive as an epitaph to his hard work in creating this site
HERITIER DE SIVOLA ew 6s
weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee sorry was late hope one saw it. too ez
Rizzel Git maker was a shocker. These things happen but please mind your terms could be misleading
always only bet what you dont mind losing, so no grievances can be held. never follow anyone else without expecting the worst, learn the game and pick your own at stakes you can afford, no point shouting at rizzle, if you’ve followed the page since his arrival, you’ll know he is far from infallible.
and never touch even money shots, 30+ races a day. put in the time and find the value, no one can be that desperate to double their investment, stick to solid EW selections, you will get your money back and small profit to keep you afloat and then hit the odd few to really boost the accounts.
masseur azul 3.35 ew well done all winners today
Strange ride on the fav from Patrick Mullins
Unsteerable thepug he hung left the full race especially on the bends.
12s now might end up big if he goes alot better other way round.
Unusual for a odds on to lose over In Ireland haha

Hey Recoba. Not really into the yanky racing, but flicking the Gulfstream, race 9. Baby blue eyes @ 66s top 3 finish or 50s for top 5. Just wanted your thoughts it
Steer clear Sundays on the American stuff is like our Saturdays haha but then the fact you picked out a big price winners makes sense . No guts no glory rather lose money having a gamble than on a even money shot unless it’s like a short price double /treble etc on the nose . Fingers crossed for you !
Hmmm. 🙄
