FATHER OF JAZZ (2.40) is improving at a rate of knots and looks the answer to the Betway Winter Derby at Lingfield.
Roger Varian’s colt has a bit to find on official ratings but the manner of his thumping victory over Pactolus here 22 days ago marked him down as one to follow. On a line through Pactolus he appears to hold principal rivals Felix and Forest Of Dean, both edged out by classy Bangkok in a tight finish over course and distance three weeks ago. Johnny Drama rattled off four straight victories in November/December but could manage only fifth spot behind Sangarius and Bangkok when last seen before Christmas.
Over the sticks at Kempton, the Close Brothers Handicap Chase over three miles has attracted 18 runners, so plenty of each-way options. Course specialist Double Shuffle bounced back to form here last month but CAP DU NORD (3.35) gets the nod after producing another fine performance at Doncaster four weeks ago when third to Takingrisks and Aye Right. The track is drying out all the time and Cap Du Nord thumped Canelo at Newbury on good ground back in November, which augurs well for the Christian Williams-trained gelding.
Only four go to post for the 2m 4f Pendil Novices’ Chase but it looks a close-knit affair. Front-runner GA LAW (1.50) could never dominate at Sandown when third to classy Allmankind and Hitman but can get back on track at the main expense of Tamaroc Du Mathan. Paul Nicholls steps him up in trip following a well-held second to mighty Shiskin here in December.
CROSSPARK (3.15) should make a bold bid to defy top weight in the gruelling 4m 1f Vertem Eider Chase at Newcastle. He deserves a change of fortune, having finished runner-up on his last four starts, and Caroline Bailey’s gelding won this marquee race in 2019, albeit off a 15lb lower mark. Course winner Sam’s Adventure was well-backed at Haydock only to exit six out in the race won by useful Royale Pigaille.
Nothing that really gets me going today to be honest but this is what I’m putting my money on see what the others say and make up your own minds . Remember it’s Saturday so everyone’s opinion is as valued as the next mans .
12:55- Lingfield- goring 10/1 sadly no each way but I’m having a little lump on this one myself !
2:45- Newcastle- sandaroc 2/1 (nap) terrible price For what I usually like to pick out if you have a Stronger opinion at bigger prices feel free to share but these are my opinions one of many on here
3:10 Lingfield- cardano – 2/1 nb
If I had to pick anything life or death all cards for me – moss gill – 5/4 2:05 Lingfield but it is nt a tip as the public had already said its the best . I’m going to have a go on this anyway but when goring wins I will lump some of that on as well haha . But obviously I’m waiting for what the main men put up to hopefully turn a profit as always . I hope insider sticks with it as I think if anyone will land a big accumulator it will be him but that could be years away like with anyone but to me he seems to have the right strategy that’s well thought out . But I dont think he would even wait for himself ha ha .
I wanted to back Cardano as well but noticed the trainer also has Lucky’s Dream in the same race with Richard Kingscote on it and because he has made it public knowledge that he want’s to win the AW jockeys title I think he will be all out to win on Lucky’s Dream so I have left the race alone, I don’t like races with two horses in from the same yard.
Exactly why I want to put more money down on it . Trainers/ jockeys / pundits Etc etc . nobody is there to help you. You need to help yourself . They got more to lose than us if we are sensible ! Never make the same mistake twice knowinginly in life. Anything worth knowing in horse racing is for the chosen few who put into it . Trainers , jockeys , etc are like boxers you need that self belief or why bother . As I say there is no right or wrong . But if any one of us were as lucky as the bookies are against us they would shut us down . Today during outrage race I was so confident with the win I was going to lump on what I thought the highest in play odds were going to be as I was always going bet on it I knew the only way to get the h best odds over that distance was to lump when all seems lost . Done it a few times now my account is restricted haha ? but it’s a good way to earn money if your confident your horse will win no matter what . From a angle of fixing I reckon they make the horse seem terrible then come back from nowhere ! How many times we see that ? Where money is involved there is no coincidences! Like the fav being slow out the gate ! And the other day a well respected trainer saying a horse seldom mAkes a mistake jumping until a jockey gets on board. As much as you want to win your money so do a lot of others .
Haha not that I’m bitter lol I still love it at the end of the day fix or no fix they don’t know what I’m backing . I dunno if you back say a 1/2 and moan like f£&ck after it’s lost ? Well you have played into there hands . The enemy is saying come on give me your money I suppose you could argue they are clue less as they seldom seem to have the right fav on display . They can see the truth and the real money that’s being put down which is still no guarantee as a horse can still throw a wobbly but with such tiny fractions involved sometimes I’m sure an irregular grunt or stop squeezing but still moving is enough haha ?
