The Japanese horse who was my only selection for Sunday is probably a lot better over further, as shown by yesterday's second-placed finish. They did the right thing by setting the pace and making it suit him, but he just doesn't have the speed over that shorter distance. I thought he might have the class to win, but he came up against a better younger horse.
It's Bank Holiday Monday in England, so there's a lot better racing on Monday than normal. However, the horse my attentions turn to is at Cartmel for some summer jumps action.

I was fortunate to tip up the winner of this race 12 months ago in the shape of Dressedforsuccess, who races again in this race this year. He will have an obvious chance in this race this time around but he has to be a lot better than what we've seen recently and to win this off an 8lb higher mark would take some doing. I think his stablemate is the one to beat, which is RAPID FLIGHT who is ridden by Charlotte Jones who rides a lot for James Moffatt, so that is a giveaway of who you'd think has a better chance from his two horses.
This horse comes into this race in the form of his life, winning his last three and four of the last five, with his only defeat resulting in a nose loss over 2m 5f, which is clearly a trip which is on the short side for him. Since tackling the new trip of 3m 1f he has looked much better and better suited. Cartmel is a track which plays to his strength and the fact he is 4/5 at the venue is a big plus coming into this competitive race.
I think he might be a drifter on the morning of the race as he didn't exactly win in good style last time around when winning at odds of 1/3F. He has been given a break since then, so has clearly been aimed at this race today, and considering the trainer does very well at this track and won it last year, he has to be going close in this.

Scootability 7.00 Roscommon looks over priced @ 80s for top 5 finish. Didn’t handle the soft ground last time out, but on better ground today and 45s for top 8 finish ew extra, worth an wee wager
