Racing tips: Irish Raider has a strong chance in the Listed race at Ayr

Liberation Point didn't quite relish the step up in trip like I thought he would, it appeared that he needed even further! Another second placed finish for the month, as the tally for those seem to be mounting up. I'm hoping on some big runs today, with the Joseph Murphy's filly looking progressive, and should enjoy the extra half furlong which she encounters today.

The opening price of WHITE LAVENDER is a big surprise, as she opened up at around 15/2, which is much higher than I anticipated. Hopefully that price stays around for a little while, so people can manage to get on, but I can't see it sticking at that price for too long.

This Irish Raider has been a very big improver from the last two runs, especially the most recent run which saw her finish a close second in a Listed Race at Tipperary, mixing it amongst some good Irish sprinters. She seems to stay the 5f very strongly, but it is undoubtedly a positive that she gets this extra half a furlong. If you watch her most recent run, she was flyng towards the end, but didn't quite have enough distance to pull the leader back. With a fast pace more than likely to bet set, from the likes of Tweet Tweet, this should be set up perfectly for White Lavender, if she can manage to avoid any trouble in running.

Tweet Tweet who I did mention, is a very quick filly, and is progressive. I tipped her up at the start of the season, and she was beaten convincingly, it's my luck that she has won races since and looks a good sprinter, and is worth a go at this level. If the pace doesn't collapse, it wouldn't be a surprise to see her running a big race.

Ayr 3:55

A recent winning tip for us runs in this race, Haveyoumissedme. Though he stayed on well to win last time out, this is a big jump up in trip, and though the Dam's side of the pedigree offers hope for his stamina, I think he is worth taking on.

The form of the York race that PRINCE IMPERIAL competed in last time out has started to work out really well, and he can add to the tally of winners from that race. This trip looks tailor made for this son of Frankel, who was staying on strongly at York, but didn't have enough track to reel the leaders in. If that race was ran over an extra furlong, I don't think he would've won, as the favourite that day was extremely well-handicapped, but I do believe he would've finished better than his final position of 6th. The time before at Pontefract he won over this distance, and that goes to show the strength of his stamina as Pontefract is a stiff track and will find horses out if they don't stay the trip.

Tyler Heard retains the ride and reduces the weight by 5lb, which will be a big help. I do believe the main threat to Prince Imperial will be Haveyoumissedme due to his unexposed profile at this kind of trip, but also the fact he carries 8st 4lbs. The 5lb claimer taking the ride for the selection will be a big benefit as it results in him giving away less weight than he would've done before.
