Thommo Racing 03

Sommer Katze was a comfortable winner at Southwell on Thursday, tipped at 9-4, it went off at 11-8 under David Nolan. TyncastlePark then stayed on well to deliver the goods for myself and countless Hearts fans after drifting from 5-2 to 5-1.

Two of Wednesday's tips come from Sandown and I have my eye on a course and distance winner on the synthetic track at Newcastle.

Sandown 12:45

GOSHEN (12.45) wallows in the mud and soft ground on the hurdles track at Sandown will make him hard to beat in the opening Juvenile Hurdle.

Gary Moore sent him to Nottingham in October for a 1m 6f handicap and Goshen sluiced up. The son of 2007 Derby winner Authorized repeated that demolition job when sent hurdling at Plumpton and looks quite an exciting recruit.

Nigel Twiston-Davies introduces French bumper winner Goa Lil and it will be interesting to note if there are positive market vibes.

Sandown 2.35

HAPPYGOLUCKY (2.35) scored on debut at Stratford for Kim Bailey and lost little in defeat when third to useful Thyme Hill at Cheltenham, throwing down a challenge from two out.

He is just preferred to Olly Murphy's wide-margin Carlisle scorer Overthetop, with runner-up Champagne Noir finishing last of six on his next outing at Aintree.

Colin Tizzard's Ofalltheginjoints has run to a decent level and is not discounted lightly.

Newcastle 5.00

There is some typically competitive Tapeta action at Newcastle where course and distance winner EL HOMBRE (5.00) is a bit of each-way value against unbeaten favourite Brushwork (making handicap debut).

Keith Dalgleish's sprinter wasn't beaten far in fourth at Wolverhampton in October and El Hombre finished third in this event last year. He can be backed each-way, four places with William Hill.

Heath Charnock is a speedy sort and should be on the premises on the back of his close third to Lady Dancealot at Chelmsford City last month.
